AirEQ could a great complement to my other UAD and native plugins. I dont like the CambridgeEQ so much, I like the GlissEQ for broadband-EQing or when the dynamic features makes sense. For sweetening the UAD-Neve or the Tritone Digital and for cutting or only for the sound the Pultec.
But I have not found a good tracking EQ which needs not so much CPU and sounds not too digital. But, I think AirEQ is the solution ;)

I dont miss graphical-curves! It make more sense to EQ with the ears and not with the eyes. My results with AirEQ are better then with other EQs.

bmanic wrote:Damn it.. this EQ is seriously tempting me aswell but I have already a boatload of equalizers and I'm also very happy with electri-q (posihfopit version) and Nyquist (it's a really good EQ once you disable the amplitude compensation per band, there is a preset for it around somewhere). I still seem to use the Sonalksis EQ for low end corrections on various sources and PLPar3 free one is still in heavy use on the master bus.

.. however, AirEQ is just so incredibly easy to get results with. It's made me rethink the way I use equalizers and you can't really beat the CPU usage.

.. wife won't be happy if I swing the VISA.. :help:

DO IT...DO IT... 8) I'm just glad people are turning on to this EQ; I thought I must be the only guy who hears something special here.

Well, I realise it ain't cheap. I think I mentioned it here before, but I will again, that I got a deal on this EQ because I volunteered to help out during pre-release, I was so blown away with this EQ. The "air" band alone brings tears to my eyes! But if I hadn't gotten a deal, I would've had to do the old wife-dance also... of course, I've already spent the money I saved on Cubase SX 3, Audio Damage Rodin...Discord 2...Prodyon's bundle... :scared:

No I think it's good too - and I'll admit I know very little about mastering or eqs, but it is simple to get good results from.

How do I log in to the user forum over at Elio before purchase?

Post

I don't think there's a user forum - the "User Zone" is for customers. I think. I got a U/P after owning AirEQ. Fabrice is a little bit silent right now, so I'm not 100% sure.

After trying the demo for several weeks, I had to break down and buy it (even with my disdain for dongles).

It's that good.

Post

Thanks bduffy - have you been in the user zone? I'm just trying to see how dev/cust interactions work with new feature requests & support. Usual kind of stuff in other words...like the forums at other companies.

It's not the cost that puts me off but the dongle. Get rid of syncrosoft and I'll buy it.

As for the UAD-1 I can't imagine ever parting with mine due to its fantastic plugins. Yes, I know the card is a dongle but at least it's an integrated piece of hardware that offers DSP rather than some dodgy bit of code shoe-horned into the software I want to buy.

Yeah, but not for awhile...I forgot my logon!

I can vouch for Fabrice, he's just a really good guy; nice, helpful, fast service. I know he's good with FR's, he listens to customers. But I shouldn't speak for him too much, I'm sure he'll pipe up in here shortly or write him an email. I know he's working on AirEQ as we speak...

The dongle is painless imho. Luckily, I already had one from buying the IK CSR. Now that I do have AirEQ and the CSR, I feel the dongle is well worth having.

I don't know what the iLock is like, but this Syncrosoft dongle is nothing.

iLok is worse, believe me.

Just wondering, does the preset not being saved mean that if you save a project with the EQ a certain way, when you reload the project, the EQ will reset??

For the demo? The EQ will totally reset upon re-opening, yes.

I will keep my eyes on this EQ though and see where ti goes. What do you guys have planned for 1.1 and the future? (If you can reveal any of it).
For the 1.1 version, some features requested by users will be available : you will be able to directly enter the values with keyboard, and you will also be able to drag values for a fine-tuned adjustment. Some worflow features will also be updated.

For the next versions, we will implement other features (peak-meter, other workflow features, etc..) and we will improve the efficiency of the EQ. It can be even better ! But it will require a lot of work from us, you know that getting 10-15% on an already optimized algorithm requires a lot of efforts.

Anyway, I know that in the case of an EQ, each percent is very important : I can not imagine to let a tiny percent unoptimized when thinking that some mixing projects will use many EQs ! (I can personally use more than 60 EQs in some of my mixes..)

So my goal is to bring AirEQ to its maximum potential, there is many workflow features that must be implemented to be sure that every single user will find a workflow suited to him, even if most users will not use it.

Fabrice,
Eliosound

I like that policy. Rock on! :tu:
