Hey Admiral - you could always make a 20M version available to those who can handle the b/w...
Actually it's MY bandwidth I'm trying to save. I've got to pay for it, and as I give away fully functioning, free, undongalized evaluations, I can't make my product a 70 MB .dll like the competition does.

As it is I'm getting killed by all the downloads of the free product, Naive LPF (6 MB). (Oh man, if only I had a dollar for each of those!)

But yeah, maybe someday! It's easy and the work is all done, just a matter of whether it's worth it or not.

Wait a second, did somebody cover how one would buy it while in beta, and when around that might be so ToTc can see if he can set aside some money???

Everything's still in flux, so don't hate me if a knob or two change position or meaning before release-time comes. But this should be pretty darn close to final.

(Other color schemes will be available eventually too.)

Design should be pretty much self-explanatory from what you see there, so not much to add. But stay tuned. It's some number of weeks away, not months. :D
Any word on a release date yet?

Thanks

Thanks for asking.

It's playable at this point! But still LOTS of knobs to hook up (with 175 parameters it takes a while!) and a few tricky issues that cropped up and have been taking some time to get just right.

So it's definitely behind where I hoped to be at this point. I'd say realistically it's still another couple of weeks to Beta. But it's coming along, slowly but surely. Hang in there... that's what I'm trying to do. :-o

What did Gimli say in LotR? "Keep breathing, that's the secret!" If you do that, every thing else will work itself out!

Uhoh... here it comes. ;)

Hey everyone... check out the Poly-Ana clav sound I stumbled across tonight while wiring up the modulation knobs... quite by accident... was testing the modulation of the filter from an oscillator (ahem... :P) I was running a square wave through Filter 1 in HPF mode, while modding that filter from another oscillator with a sine wave tuned 2 octs and a 5th above the square... It sounded VERY clav-y! Then I ran that filter's output through the 2nd filter, set to LPF to add dynamics, a bit of resonance, and roll off the highs... wasn't setting out to make a clav but when I heard the timbre I spent a minute or two tweaking the envelopes and came up with this patch. :)

(Sorry, no time to do a proper performance... just poking at keys here.)

Back to work! It's days now folks, not weeks... but I have to keep working on dev so no time to play it and make you demos. Sorry. Soon though! VERY soon. :)

EDIT: Oh! A few new features coming too!

funky indeed

Thanks. One more little teaser before bed:

That's one sound. Not a layer. There's some envelope PWM, cross mod of the filter from an osc on one side, and lots of resonance and env mod on the filter on the other side. Bend range set to 2 octaves (it goes to 4! :o )

Post

Thats even cooler! Now Im really impressed. Maybe you should chrage a dollar for your filter and make the gui less weighty? That would save you money until you finish your Poly-Ana synth.

That second teaser sounds fantastic, congratulations!

Well, those sounds are both great. Eager to hear more.

Yep, sounds very good indeed :)

..I'd be more impressed if it went up to 11 :-o
