Guys, I would like to know if there is out there a free VSTi that I can use to convert my audio as it comes into to cubase into Bass sound. I had a GNX4 that had a patch that did this and it sounded realistic. Specially after I added the effects in cubase, but I sold it, and now I need this option. If anyone knows please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
Warmest regards,
Musikman

I haven't tried myself, but another option would be to use an audio-to-midi plug (such as synodeia2 by klanglabs: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1606.html) to trigger a bass vsti or a bass patch from a vsti sampler... I assume that cubarse could handle this routing
The mind boggles.

thank you guys for the links and ideas. I really appreiciate it. I am going to try all of them and see which works best for my needs. I know nothing will compare to the real thing (Bass Guitar), but if I can come really close and use effects to tweak it even more, then that would save me some cash and not have to buy a Bass guitar.
Thats one of the only reasons I miss the GNX 4 effects board, but then again, my new Tonelab SE is truly awsome!
If any of you come up with more links or ideas please let me know.
Warmest regards,
Musikman

Synodeia looks great. I had no idea something like this existed. How well does it work? There are so many threads on guitar styled MIDI controllers, yet this was never mentioned.
After reading about it I looked up all the Audio to MIDI vsts on KVR.

I am playing with Synodeia and Ultram. I can't get good results with either. Ultram sends MIDI info, but it sounds like a mess (I am using a guitar). Synodeia sends no MIDI info. I am using FL Studio.

Thank you so much my friend. PV transp really worked. All you have to do is put it in your insert slot in the INPUT Channel of the cubase mixer. Then call up the edit effect, move the slider all the way to the left and VOILA!!! INstant BASS GUItAR. I love it man. I had other transp effects but they all had so much delay, I guess because of the GUI. This one is so simple and it works. Thank you man.

I find it pretty amazing considering:
1 this plug is almost unknown
2 it's about 10 years old and nobody came up with something better
3 "home coded" by an individual in his spare time
4 it's FREE
