Are they legit pictures?

If so then I must say I feel my hand edging closer and closer to my credit card! Especially as I didnt get SX3.

I especially like the look of the 'control room view'. That looks much more like what Id expect from a high end audio sequencer.

Excellent. Any ideas on a release date?

Btw, is it just me or do a couple of those plugins look well Logic'y?

I don't particularly like the look of any of the new GUI (if indeed they are genuine at all).

Seems to be getting even more cluttered...more toylike...and doesn't look like much of anything new.

A patch browser...gee whizz, I'm so excited.

Something else under a different name that looks like it's just a fancy version of the pool window.

A studio control room, that looks like it's probably just a fancy wiring schematic. Might do something new...might just be a visual toy.

Some of the new synths might be good, but I won't know until it comes out, eh?

New Eqs or old Eqs on a now dodgy-looking Ableton copyalike graphic? Don't know.

Features...again, until Steinberg officially release something, I'm not even going to bother thinking about it. Everyone has their wishlist and hatelist and nobody knows for sure. There's going to be an awful lot of crap spouted on the net for a while I suspect.

All I know is that SX2 works for me and SX3 didn't offer anything worth the upgrade for me. SX2 continues to work for me and probably will all the while those quick to buy the new SX4 beta do the beta testing for me. :hihi:

I suspect it'll be SX5 before I actually feel the need to upgrade. Maybe by then it'll truly go back to being as good as VST5.1 was, but with the better audio engine.

I saw Kingston mentioned a beta-tester friend of his let slip about automation snapshots...another step backwards to Cubase VST then, and not before time.

turns out it was a nuendo4 feature instead. C4 will have a dumbed down version of N4 automation which will apparently (and don't quote me on that) rule the world. Anyway I doubt I should really be saying any of this.

Hey Kritikon: if it means anything, I finally upgraded to SX 3, and I can say the new features are worth paying for a used version! Actually, In-Line Editing and "Copy/Paste channel settings for multiple selected channels in one go" is worth it alone for me, but yeah, I just happened to get a good deal on it. Otherwise...

Kingston, you've said too much. If we don't here from you again, we know what happened.

steinborg: resistance is futile.

and I never fail to mention how the borg have fully assimilated this poor beta tester friend of mine.

Yes, that's true. Well, like I've been saying: after hearing about firsthand experiences with Pro Tools, I really feel much more reassured about Steiny stuff; I forgot how..."different"...PT is. Thank god I'm using Cubase/N.

Wonder if they'll sort out the generic remote implementation in the next version of SX?
