Velocity Layers and Sampled Grand Pianos

I've been looking at variuous grand piano sample sets.

Various sets boast about having 16, 32 layers of velocity.

That's all well and good, but I'm only using an Athlon 1600+ with 1GB ram for the next several months til I can afford to upgrade.

Would I even notice a difference with say the Sampletekk White Grand or 7 Seas?
