Yeah, I know...Old Skool. But I'm using Sony's CD Architect it only does DX plugs. I'm looking for some nice mastering stuff to use within it. Especially meters like Inspector XL. Any thoughts? :help:

Hi Squish,
Izotope Ozone is rather good, affordable, and available in DX format. There's also some nice Sonic Timeworks DX plugins. I have the CompressorX and V1 equalizer (came with Sonar 2 XL), and I think they work pretty well and are also not too pricey. Don't know how good the "Mastering compressor" is. Anyway, as an all-in-one solution, you probably can't beat Ozone, though.
Mind you, I'm a ranks amateur, but too my ear these above options sound rather fine. I think there's demo versions available for all of these.

Have fun
Alex

There are products to wrap VSTs to DirectX:

Then the full market is open to you.

Otherwise I agree with former speaker, Izotope Ozone is pretty good.

One thing that is good about is that everything is within one plugin, and you will have it all in one preset.

That means that the exact settings can easily be moved to the next project as a start.

Hey thanks everyone. Ozone looks good, bt I didn't realize there was a VST to DX wrapper, I knew there were some that went the other way.

I really liked this. I'm able to use my favorite Betabugs plugins  with it. But, my IXL seems to lag behind. Is that because of some sort of conversion process that goes on?
I really just need meters. Any good DX meters?

Izotope Ozone. :D

I have a copy of Ozone 1 (DX) which I don't use anymore-
I have Ozone 2 now- main difference between the two is the availability of presets -
3 apparently has better dithering but you're still better off using an external non-realtime dithering engine like the one in cool edit or something-
If you're looking to buy, email or pm me-

Why not just get a DX to VST adapter and use any plugin you like?

Because it seemed like the meters response was behind the sound.I don't know if it was because it was wrapped or if its an affect of CD Architect, don't know. The master meter in CDA seems to be spot on. I tried it on IXL and an adapter would surely be the way to go, but I need the meters to be accurate.
