You might be a poor student and I am honestly sympathetic
to your situation. I also believe that your work shows
promise. Now lets add those statements: student + promise.
I'm sorry but to me that simply does not add up to commercially
viable. There are many FREE synths available that a) sound better b) have better routing options c) have better designed
GUI's Oh...and did I mention they're FREE.

There's nothing wrong with trying to make a euro and I don't mean to discourage you in any way from further developing your talent but, quite frankly, nothing about Agressor inspires me to open my wallet. Don't quit your day job!! :D

I tried the download today for this plugin and it crashed FL immediately. It didn't even load. I double-clicked to select it from the list and an error window popped up instead.

It looks like some slightly different competition for the KXOmni600...

a new version is online now. i fixed some improper parameter initializiations in the constructor - this *might* have been the reason for some hosts to crash on load. there are also new features:

-oscillators provide free-running mode now (set the start-phase slider to hard right position for this)
-oscillators provide now a NoiseCycle-waveform

i definitively like the name !!
i willl try your vst gate by the meantime .
edit i have just tested it well it is a good start you got the name , but please group your fxp in a unique fxb it is kind a pain in the arse to listen to the presets , and maybe that would be cool if there was a panel inside the synth to go to the presets directly .

O.K. i have assembled some of the .fxp-file's which i regard as best into an .fxb-file (named BestOfAggressor.fxb)

mmmh. ok. but IMHO the hard-wired design is well suited for the class of sounds, aggressor has been made for. it does not aim to be a general purpose synth but rather a niche- or genre-synth.
c) have better designed GUI's
i admit, that all my GUI's are far from being fancy or particularly beautiful - but i think they are quite easy to understand and to use. at the moment i'm messing around with a new GUI-framework (JUCE) anyway. my future plugIns will come with different looking GUI's therefore. maybe i will migrate also aggressor to this JUCE-framework some day.
Oh...and did I mention they're FREE.
yes, you did. did i mention, that the current version of aggressor is also free and unrestricted? on the other hand i see some quite simple bassline-synths (and other kinds of plugIns) sold at quite high prices on the market (don't want to throw names here)

from your website i conclude, that you are more into rock-music. i guess for technoheads, aggressor could be more interesting.

i don't have one yet - but anyway, i do not hope, to live from my VST-development activities alone. at least not as my own company.

Hi Braindoc,

I can't load agressor in SaviHost and Cantabile (both of which run usually anything I throw at them), haven't tried other hosts so far because I need to install the plug in the scanned dir, etc...

I am on Windows ME, Athlon XP 2600, 1.75 GB RAM.

Just tried Aggressor in Orion Pro (Windows 2000).It crashes the plugin checker and Orion doesn't see it at all.I would love to try it out for some raw sounding bass.

FWIW- if anyone else may be having trouble with this one, trying wrapping it in Energy XT and inserting into your host. that's what's working for me when I'm trying to use Aggressor in Live...may help you guys? hope so. nice synth even if it is a little squirrelly to get it to work sometimes :wink: 8)
