Hey there, I recently downloaded Ticky Clav and I can't wait to try it
out - the problem is that I can't access my built-in midi keyboard so I
downloaded another one.. It's called Virtual Midi Keyboard and is much the same as the one Microsoft give you (ie just some keys on the screen which play a note when you press a letter on the keyboard).. My
problem is, I can't seem to get the Virtual Midi Keyboard to play the Ticky
Clav's sounds, I know it has something to do with linking the two together
using the inputs and outputs but do I need another program as I am not using an external midi keyboard?

What do my settings need to be for:

a)Virtual Midi Keyboard (it says Midi Port and has a drop-down list)
b)Ticky Clav (Input is SBAudigy MIDI Port and Output has a drop-down list
identical to the Keyboard's one)

Please help me out here!

Sure Tick :)

If you go to the settings page on there you can see the window I'm talking about where it lists the input - what I think I need to do is somehow link that input to the output on Ticky Clav??

OK, the doc states:
If you want to send the MIDI messages to another program you should use a virtual MIDI port such as Hubi's LoopBack device.
Have you installed a loopback device as well ? You can try MidiOX or Hubi...

On a side note, using TickyClav with a virtual keyboard is not going to be much fun. To hear the clav funky side you really need to *play* it while smashing keys on a real midi controller :)

OK Ticky, I've got Midi-OX and all I need to do is make a link between the Ticky Clav and Midi-OX (which has a function so I can play the notes on my keyboard BUT the only instrument it's playing is piano, no clav..)

So how can I make it that when I play a note it's a clav sound from Ticky and not just a piano?

As the midi yoke doc says:
- Your virtual keyboard application should open MIDI Yoke 1 as an output port
- TickyClav should open MIDI Yoke 1 as an input port

If you hear a piano I suspect you're sending midi commands to your GM soundcard, which plays the default piano preset.
