Hi people,
Was just wondering if there are any harmonizer VST's out there?Something like the hardware Eventide(i forgot the model no)which Steve Vai uses or used to use.I remember seeing a old Akai plug-in called Deca Buddy which could do some modal harmonies. Not too sure whether it's still available.

Audio Damage Discord 2 is what you're after. No demo available but it's cheap. www.audiodamage.com

Hi Rusty,
That was quick!!!Thanks man.I just went to the Audio Damge site & checked out the features of Discord.Unfortunately,it's not what i'm looking for. What it does is pitch shifting.not harmonising. It would transpose all the notes by the same amount which will not work in most of the situations. Thanks anyway.

Hi Tony,
I had a chance to work with Deca Buddy in a studio here quite some time back.Altho it was not in the same league as the Eventide which i mentioned,it could do a good job.I know that it has benn discontinued. But what surprises me that nothing new has come up in its place.Isn't there a market/demand for this type of VST??!!I for one would love to see this. That would really save me time in the studio to teach the singers here to sing their own harmonies which most are rather inept at!!!

I want one, too.

There is some Choirboy plugin from Elevayta, but I haven't gotten around to test the latest version.

For vocal work, I think Melodyne from www.celemony.com is pretty hard to beat. Rephrase from www.leapfrogaudio.com might also be worth checking out.

I think he was talking real time effect that he can use on a live input and not something to edit with or use just on playback.

if not then melodyne for sure.

the reason more people dont do this is i think that the low latency pitch tracking trick is only owned by a few companies.

what ever happened to trivox?!?!!? I LOVED that plug! (still do!)

Wasn't there somebody who made similar plugins as the Antares ones, but stopped releasing till a "tripple voice" version comes out? It's at that stage since last year if I can remember. Forgot the name of the "firm" however...

Vai was using the GTR-3000. There is the DSP-4000, which I have, and haven't found a good replacement in software yet.

Hi all,
Thanks to everybody who have posted in this thread so far.Really appreciate it.However most of the VST's mentioned are essentially pitch shifters not harmonisers.Thinkin bout trying out the Trivox beta.Anybody using it?
Also i agree that melodyne is the best for vocals tho not in real time.
Thanks and also waiting for more suggestions.

I wonder why someone hasn't made a proper harmonizer that stays in-scale while shifting. Missed market there, I would think.
