Anyone know of a magazine similar to Computer Music in the UK that's available here in the US? I can get CM here at a bookstore, but it's rather expensive and about a month behind. I like the fact that every issue comes with a cd-rom or dvd of samples and software.

But I don't think you get the cd when the magazine is mailed to you via the subscription.Jongleur wrote:I just sent for a free trial issue.![]()

If you subscribe to Computer Music in the US, you WILL get the DVD.
I used to subscribe, but random issues would not get to me (I think the guys in the Post Office were collecting occasional reading material; I don't think it was the mag's fault.)
It's still gonna be a month behind... magazines are shipped 4th class on container ship and nothing's going to speed up the process!

it's a shame - i stopped reading CM many years ago cause it was way too expensive a habit to keep up.

The subscription page says "US: 12 issues and 12 CDs for only $24.95" so it looks like you do get the CD with the mag subscription... so no need to cryJongleur wrote:jeffn1 wrote:But I don't think you get the cd when the magazine is mailed to you via the subscription.Jongleur wrote:I just sent for a free trial issue.![]()

Another vote for Virtual Instruments Magazine. There's an option to download all issues as PDF files--that's what I subscribed to. I kind of regret not going with the print versions (I was being cheap) since I love taking mags into the bathroom (er...not in that way). I could print out the PDF pages, but then I'd waste money on printer ink (a full color magazine shouldn't be printed out in black/white--you'd miss half the fun).
