We have just released a new version of our Chorus and Stereo Chorus directX and VST plug-ins.

Main changes:
- Advanced real time MIDI control with customizable parameters curve response and MIDI learn.
- Blue Cat's Skinning Language V1.2.1 support.
- Now supports one skin per preset and a global default skin: customize each instance of the plug-in in the same session.
- All parameters can now be fine tuned thanks to a text-edit popup window that appears when double clicking on user interface widgets.

And all these features are free! Download them on http://www.bluecataudio.com .

A step by step tutorial is now available to learn how to use the new advanced MIDI control features (it's within Cakewalk Sonar but it's applicable to other hosts as well):

Thanks to the KVR users who sent feedback in the beta stage of these products.

The beta never even had a problem I could find.

With your skinning language and DX midi control I suspect you have something up your sleeve that's going to be amazing in the future.

Thanks for sharing this. I use blue cat chorus all the time.

Thank you.
DX midi control
MIDI control is also supported in the VST version. it works very well in Cubase for example.

We are planning to add a Cubase tutorial as well but the only version we have is French...!

Post

Well, I imagine DX and midi generally don't work so well together except in the rare instances that a dev like you goes to all the trouble to make it work.

I use FL so Blue Cat Chorus doesn't give me the slightest trouble in any way via midi. It just works the way it is.

cool plugin and really low on the cpu, it can be used as a vibrato plugin too, i like the new GUI , do you intend to redisign all your plugin suite ? cause some of the previous plugin like the classic flanger are kind of bit flashy :P

It was designed to be very versatile indeed. But the presets are really bad... I need to find some time to add some more, or maybe some kind users will post their own banks (I'd be glad to add them on the web site ). :)

Yes I am! :D

Yes, it's almost done, but it takes a lot of time to finish the installers + documentations + skins... Keep connected anyway, there is a lot more to come!

I always want to share my presets, but I almost always use so much parameter animation that I'm not sure what other people use. And for that matter I always make my own presets on everything.

But it's good of you to point out that you need some and I'm sure I'm not the only person that'll be happy to oblige.

ok good to know maybe you have heard about this

Sure, but it's always good to have good presets to start with.

If you have some presets to share (for any plug-in), just tell me: a new section should appear soon on the website and your presets could be added to it.

Thank you very much! Your choruses are great for extreme FX. If it's the same algorith as the first series then I'll simply replace them with the MIDI-able updates. Cheers! The bility to input values is perfect.

Yes it's the same! If you are subtle with the rate & depth parameters you can get subtle effects too :-). The trick is that if you have a fast rate you usually want to reduce either the depth or delay so that the pitch change is reasonable.

Bump.

You might want to edit that old thread's title so people don't look there for this, Blue Cat (odd to call you that but that's all I see for a name).

I got to remix in some Blue Cat Chorus into this song's chorus that I think is delightfully evil sounding:
http://www.soundclick.com/util/download ... ID=4345643

The part where the vocal-sounding synth plays the melody "M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I" which, live, will be vocoded.

This chorus is no joke. It gets seriously evil and futuristic-sounding.

In fact, it is the only chorus (and I have many) that can replicate the insanity of my old favorite, Cool Edit's chorus's "Hell's Chorus" preset. Great for clarinet, oddly.

Th new fixings make it absolutley complete. I always liked these choruses for FX, but always wanted finer tweaking. It feels like I asked for it :hihi: Thank you once again.
