An Antares rep told me that I could use auto-tune with my multi-track Cool Edit Pro 2.1 program, but only in automatic mode.

I installed auto-tune successfully, now how do I use it with Cool Edit? I see no options anywhere in my cool edit for auto tune.

I don't think cool edit has vst (AA does), are you using the dx or vst of auto-tune?

It's been a looong time since I've used C.E.P., but from what I remember you have to manually scan for dx plug ins. There's an option somewhere within the program to scan your drive for the plugs. Most programs now automatically scan for new plugs every time they start, but CEP doesn't do that. Once you run a scan it'll show up in the list of effects. Check your manual if you can't find the option to scan.

A bit off topic, but I had a similar problem with Ableton Live some time ago. I forget what plugin I wanted to try, but I found one that was DX only. I installed it but couldn't see it, so gave up.

Wasn't critical to making music or anything, so I wasn't too concerned. Anyone know how to do this in Live?

Live doesn't support DX plugins.

Maybe that's why I couldn't find it... :hihi:

Still, I'm pretty happy with my setup, so I don't often think about adding anything new unless it gives me a better way of doing what I like.

Thanks, I DID have to scan for the plug-in. I then managed to find it via the effects/directx path. Nice program. Now I gotta read the manual on how to tweak the thing.

DX effects can be used in VST only hosts w/ VB-Audios FFX-4 as for an example.
