I am trying to program some drums in FL Studio and want to use 6/8 time. I can't figure how to get it out of 4/4. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

It's in the song options isn't it? I don't use FL, but I seem to remember that there is something near all the audio options.

We have a winner, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. You go to "options" then "project general settings" and set the beat to 6

It's in "Options - Project general settings"

edit: too late :P

So you can't go from duple to triple time in a single composition? It's global?

I don't know of a way to do that, no. Except that the pianoroll patterns are of individual lengthts.. I guess this has been discussed here many times though.

You can do it in song options and it's global.
But it's much easier to do it in each individual pattern if you're going to use more than one time sig.

Plus, you have to make sure to align differing uneven meter patterns in the song arrangement window which is a hassle but works out. I should know - I'm mixing a 4, 8, 9 and 12-time song in FL at this moment.

Here's a FL song in something like 10, 8, 22 and 14 time if I remember correctly.

question of topic: f11 is a shortcut to the project settings screen.

time signatures: time signatures are global. varying time signatures can be achieved by utilizing various snap settings or by using the 'beats per bar for this pattern' in the step sequencer.

hello,
can we stretch the "midi blocks" (clips) in flstudio playlist?
thanks.

You can't stretch them in the playlist, but if you open the piano roll, select all the notes, hold shift, and then grab the edge of one of the notes, you can stretch or shrink all the notes together - i.e. their position and length, not just their length (which is the case if you don't hold shift down).
