Well, if music does at some point become totally automated, humans will likely find manifestations of talent (i.e., devotion) in other activities.

I don't think the wonder of listening to someone like Andres Segovia just sitting there with an acoustic instrument and perhaps a microphone, or hearing some poor opera singer lying on his back having to belt out the challenging music that Wagner wrote for the dying Tristan, is going to be replaced by computers any time soon.

It might happen but, fortunately, not likely in my lifetime.

Thanks Whyte :tu:
Does that mean that everything mentioned there is included in Studio Edition also? (Except for the Producer Edition exclusive part).

Btw. was there anyone asking for screenshots? (Click on view pics)

Doesn't give that much away. The picture of the mixer is pretty awesome though - much better 3D look. Also the arrangement view, and the "warp markers" (or whatever Cakewalk decide to call them). A fantastic overhaul of the GUI I reckon.

Auto-sing is called "V-Vocal" and it rules ;)

:hihi:

I LOVE V-Vocal, too - the best vocal-fix tool I've used! It's truly "Auto-sing" for everybody but the engineer... So, "Auto-engineer" is probably the future plug-in

From this, the Cubase 4 thread and Live 6 beta it looks like they all will converge sometime in the near future.

Hey...wasn't that one of the signs of the end of the world in Revelations 8)

Add XT2 and cubase 4 and what do you get :troll:

Pretty exciting. The workflow improvements are most welcome. I hope they have addressed the problem of having multiple envelops that are hard to select because they overlap each other. That was always a PITA.

The new look is nice--darker and more techie looking. The more 3D look and the color scheme makes it look a little like Cubase though:

The mixer looks almost exactly the same except for a color scheme tweak, beefier send controls, and the presence of those nice "Read/Write" buttons. Automation has been a pain for too long, so that easy accessability is a welcome change (even if we're approaching button overload!).

Post

Functionally the same, yes. But I like the more 3D look - almost looks like a rugged hardware mixer. It will be interesting to see how that image works alongside the rest of the GUI.

I'm pretty sure he said it was just the Surround version that wouldn't be included.
Thanks, caught that from the other post too.
