The old 'demo' version was working fine, but the new one crashes all hosts here. Did you use SSE2 optimizations ? I am still using an old athlon without SSE2.

Post

didnt get it to work in protools.

this is a good point. indeed did i use SSE2 optimizations for the newer versions (i migrated aggressor from the MS VC 6.0 to the MS VC 2005 express version where i used all optimizations that are available). so i uploaded now a new archive, which contains three different builds of aggressor: one with SSE2 and "intrinsic functions enabled", one without SSE (not even SSE1) and no "intrinsic functions enabled" and the very old one compiled with VC 6.0. if that solves the problem, i would be very happy.

btw.: on my machine i don't see much a difference between the version with and without SSE in CPU-load anyway - so if this really should be the solution i will stick to version without SSE

Thanks :!:
I redownloaded it, but the archive still seemss to be the same. (with just one version of aggressor) :?:

did you use this link: http://www.braindoc.de/vst/Aggressor.zip ?

or, maybe, your browser didn't realize the file as a new version used a local buffer to "download" from?

or maybe you unzipped into the same folder as before, where still the old version resides (the old one will not be replaced in this case because the new versions are organized into sub-folders (for the different builds) inside the archive now).

Greetings Braindoc.
The "Without SSE Optimization" version of Aggressor is now working ( Orion Pro , Windows 2000 ,AMD Athlon ),it sounds angry!!!! , many thanks for this plug.
Strictly drum and bass

Yes, here too. :!: :!:

I really like the raw metallic sound of this synth. It has a character of it's own and the CPU consumption is reasonable. I will play with it more than i did yet (and will read the excellent manual on your site)

Thank You :!: :!:

this is - finally - good news. there are some minor issues to be adressed though. but the showstopper-bug seems to be solved. much thanks to THK for pointing me to the SSE2-issue. somehow i assumed, that all but the most outdated CPU's support SSE2 these days. but even the not so old Athlon XP doesn't - so this assumption was wrong.

again: a new version with some improvements:

-new waveforms: PinkNoiseCycle and BrownNoiseCycle
-more presets (the library contains 283 presets now)

Brown noise, are you crazy ? Someone call homeland security.

 what strange associativities do you have? ...mmh...i could also call it RedNoiseCycle...

yeah .. us athlon owners can't use anything made with synth-maker, and an increasing number of developers are starting to use SSE in their synth-edit plugs too ...

thanks for releasing a nonSSE Aggressor :)

Sorry I didn't mean to stop you, just mute me.

i just took a fly through this badboy last night. it's incredible. only drawback a few patches out of hundreds didn't load properly in my host, but that's smallchange, and really should be expected in a beta build. i really enjoyed the overall sound and the convenience of the interface. truly a gritty synth, a pleasure to experience. good luck to in your work man. just a minor suggestion, perhaps a "lite" free version wouldn't be such a bad idea, and is sure to endear your work to a lot of people.

I actually read a couple of your posts in a dsp thread recently, and i was wondering if you've ever thought about producing modules for synthedit? Us "cheaters" can always use more toys!
