SampleTank 2.1 XL or Kontakt 2.1

I'm trying to determine which app to purchase. I've seen a lot of discussions about Kontakt being the best sampler however, as all of my AKAI cds have already been converted to Halion format (for many years now) I am purely interested in the app with the best sounds. Please advise on which is the best in this area. I already have Sonik Synth 2 and love it and am curious to know if purchasing Sampletank would be a redundant purchase (soundwise). I am more of a preset player (ADSR/Layering/DX fx is about the extent of my tweaking).

Additionally, I do have some NI based instruments (Nostalgia, Elektrik Piano, etc.). One thing that is a major pain is the load times. Is Kontakt the sampler like that as well?
