So, the poll should have been only between PPC and Intel Macs (both OSX), but as it was claimed as 'prefered platform' poll, I would not have made a difference between Intel and PPC Macs... rather than between Mac, Windows, Linux, etc...

I'm definately paying more attention to plug-in makers that are more universal.

I'm planning to purchase an MacIntel so I can dual boot. Therefore I prefer to buy from makers that support both platforms. Folks like U-He, FabFilter (got-em all), audiodamage, virsyn, and so forth.

Especially appreciated are makers that don't charge extra to use either platform.

Sure. I read it as a quick poll of people who were buying PPC plugs for the PPC 'platform' as opposed to buying UB plugs for the MacIntel 'platform', which provides more info than just lumping them together (which you can still get from this poll by summing the two anyway.)

The point is, there is no additional info with this, like you might think, because, if you buy a newer plugin, you always will get UB, regardless if you have IntelMac or PPC... it runs on both kind of Macs. So, I could have voted for UB, no matter if I have an IntelMac or not. The poll result tells just nothing in this case.

Btw, I voted for OSX - I would have voted for both, PC and Mac, as I use both platforms (however, Mac prefered).

Nah, plenty of people coulda bought non-UB plugins, there's still loads out there that aren't available as UB's, including all the NI stuff, for a start...

i really think it doesn't matter on which platfor you are, unless:
- you need to be compatible
- you want to work with a host software that is only available on one platform (i.e. logic, digital performer, sonar, etc ...)

other than that, the choice is simple:
just check out for yoursel with which platform you get along better with ...
they're both same priceleague, if you really want a great for-audio-buildt pc it's in the same priceleague as a new mac ...
