i am trialing live's demo and one thing is odd that i can't figure out.

i have some audio that i know loops perfectly every 2 bars at 100 bpm. it seems though that i have to use one of Live's audio warp modes on that audio piece in order to enable it to loop in the session view. This degrades the audio somewhat... so I am hoping to not have to apply any warp mode (hope i am using the right terminology here..not at my music station) and just be able to loop the unprocessed audio exactly every 2 bars like i would in any other daw.

anybody know if i can do this and if so ..quick tips on how?

thx much

Try "Repitch" mode on the clip, as this does no stretching, but instead pitch shifts to match tempo. If you're just running at the original tempo, no pitching will need to be done, so the audio should retain it's integrity.

What kind of loop are you using?
If it is a drum loop, then use beat mode.
If it is a bass loop (as well as lead), use tone mode.
If is a pad or fx loop, use texture mode.
Finally if is a complete loop piece(drum+bass+pad+lead+ect...), then use complex mode, but this mode will use cpu cycles a lot!!!!!

Ops...sorry, bad english :hihi:

thx beej will try that.
to be specific much of the audio needing to loop are precise 1 and 2 bar audio segments from cubase sx where i recorded the track. i want to expirment with Live as an arrangement/mix environment. but i don't need it to change and pitch, timing, or audio lengths. yet when i played with tthe demo it seemed like it was forcing me to do this stuff even when i didn't need to - in order to enable loop mode on an event in the session view. but sounds like maybe "repitch" will be a non-destructive way to enable looping?
hope so :)

repitch at the proper tempo will force you to play the loop just like you want

Make sure there is no warp marker (doubleclick to delete it) at the end of the warped clip, then you will not have any degradation in audio quality. Use Beat mode or Repitch mode - doesn't really make a difference in this case.

Another solution would be to leave the clip un-warped and use Follow Actions to loop it (Session view only).
