Hi there..I downloaded a file from the internet in midi format.
I assigned different vst instruments within cubase to play each part.
The problem I'm havong is if I set a VST to a certain preset I like..when I return to the start of the track all the presets revert to something different. I figure there is some Midi data in the file affecting cubase. any idea how i can get rid of this annoying problem?

Hi htrance,
I'm pretty much sure there is a program change message in the beginning of each of the midi file.
What u need to do is select the midi file.Go to Midi-Open List Editor(Alt+L).Selct the program change message in the beginning of the list & delete it.Make sure the desired VST preset is chosen b4 doing this.If not,it'l select the preset corresponding to the program change in the original midi file.
Hope this helps.
Peace & Love,
Mizo
