Quiet

a very violent compressor. want to hear just the cymbals? try this. you have to wait for 5 seconds on the 4shared site. that's all. let me know what you think. i followed all the documentation i could get and just tried to make a more variable slope for the leveling. please post some comments, because i don't have a lot of loops to experiment with it... peace.

How did you do that...I mean, just cruised through the very cool presets (inspired) and I kept wondering "now, how in the..."...very nice filters responding well within Reaper being fed wacky HGFortune-syle drumtracks...no glitches except for, well, checkout preset1...you will like it...

Seriously, how did you do that...

Presets seem like I'm tweaking knobs but I'm not...lots of movement in the sound...keep in mind these are really long, convoluted not your typical drum patterns. Anyhow, seems more than just "violent compression"...checkout preset "flitter" or "you do the rest"...I'm saying maybe "a very violent compressor. want to hear just the cymbals? try this." doesn't really cover it...but if that was your intent, then how did you make a plugin that can make an bongo-udu-banya-kick combo sound so trippy...

Maybe try Quiet with some non-traditional instrumentation ya'll..

This is really... different. At first I didn't think it was doing much, but then I cranked the level of what I was feeding it and... whoah. Took me a bit to figure out the "impulse" thing... I added tremolo to a Rhodes all unexpectedly

Seems like it needs a limiter to keep it from being too insane. Even so, not something I'd use frequently, but something to slap into a channel and see what happens

Quiet is an example of using companders for an effect and not just as a mixing tool.

Gates and weird multiband expansion and compression settings are how I made the insane pumping drums on my song "Unilater, Multislacker" and I desperately wish I had Quiet way back then!

Played around with this on some drum tracks last night and was surprised/pleased by the effect.......But I have no idea whats going on with the controls?
Whats up with the impulse? A brief explanation might help.

I guess my only request would be some sort of output limiter with make up that would allow you to set a master level. Channel levels can vary a lot when tweaking.
