ASP Errors! :(

Post

They're fixed now!

Post

Native VST support, color schemes, customizable menus and interface, etc. Sounds like a good update to me. I mention these features because many people complain about them. Having to use a wrapper(even though transparent), button bar too cluttered, etc. I think there is a lack of big, flashy features being added, but that's alright. There's still a few there.

huh?....there doesn't seem to be much there that makes get :hyper:. The audio snap really sounds cool, however I'm not sure that is something I would want, not that I don't make timing errors. However when I do either I keep it for the "real" feel it is by default, or redo it...I don't want it too sterile. Of course it's way too soon to decide anything and this will be interesting to watch.

Don't forget the Vintage Channel VC-64 (powered by Kjaerhus Audio, now that's time to update the Gold Series GUI ^^), the iZotope's Radius time-stretching and pitch-shifting algorithm, the new VSTi Session Drummer 2 and others cool features...

I have read it on the Cakewalk official forum, because the page show an ASP error on my PC :(.

I think Sonar has had native vst support since v5. I still don't like the gui so I'll wait an see how customisable it is. Looks like a good upgrade though.

I watched the 64bit video and it looks like Sonar 6 will have a huge edge in terms of cpu/ram management on other hosts.

It can access up to 128GB or ram. But with the prices of ram atm and lack of a mobo and an OS that can handle this amount of ram it seems like an option that will only be worthwhile in at least a years time.

"Kjaerhus Vintage Channel"!?! NICE! :hyper:

You Cakewalk bastards. :x  :P

sonar 6 seems kick ass.

Yeah, looks good. In the other thread, someone was saying it didn't seem that major, but when you add it all up, looks pretty major. And more like Nuendo! :-o

  • Friendly driver naming (user-customizable audio hardware port names)
That alone makes me think the makers of Sonar are the only people who actually make music with PCs and understand how things have changed. If that is possible, wtf is wrong with everyone else?
  • Work seamlessly with VST plug-ins—VST support is now integrated into SONAR 6 and no longer requires an external VST to DX adapter
Well, it's about goddamn time.
I realize why they didn't before but that was really hurting them.

I don't use Sonar but much praise fpr all these changes.
