In your opinions, what is the best trance gate or tempo synced gate, regardless of price - including free ones. I just want to know which ones you find to be a awesome, totally useful go-to effect.

To give some parameters:

Programmable trance gate (x number of steps)
Effects (delay, dual delay, reverb, chorus, etc)
Eq section.
Modulators like LFO's and such.
Useable presets to get you started.

Music genre aimed at: Dance, Trance, Techno, Pop, Rock, etc.

Thank you for all of your input - opinions vary widely, so this should be interesting.

I don't think there's anything out there that can match Camelspace for that purpose.

I'd third that motion. Sometimes you can get an unsatisfactory 'clicky' effect with too rapid an on/off gate. Not so with Camelspace where you can adjust to taste, on top of all the effects you mentioned plus plenty of presets.

It's lacking some of the things you ask for, but it's still a nice Trancegate (although BONES will probably chop off my scrotum for calling it that

) .

If you're thinking free, I recommend BONES' kILLERGATE ... its on his website somewhere, http://www.novakill.com

However, if you're an FL user, be careful when recording, as it sometimes records bogus data (only in FL though) .. dunno why.

i have a midi-controlled Trance-Gate on my website. i think doing it via midi makes it much more flexible than those with built in step-seq.

Thanks everyone. Yes, novakill's killergate+ is amazing. I've been looking at camelspace - i'll probably end up buying it.

Anyone have Prodyon's Agonyx - he no longer has it and I know it's like 99% what i've mentioned. If you do have it, please let me know where to download it - it was free anyway, so no copyright or other violations.

Any other opinions?

How about ubergate - anyone try that?
