Getting LS MIDI out to work in FL Studio 6, SONAR 5.2

Hey there.
Maybe I'm stupid (and I probably am
), but I'm having problems getting the LiveSlice MIDI out to work (to control effect parameters) in both SONAR 5.2 and FL Studio 6.whatever. In SONAR I can get as far as recording the MIDI out data in a track, but can't use that that to automate any vst effects. In FL Studio I can't even get that far. Does anyone have a tutorial/thoughts/suggestions?

I guess I can always load it within energyXT and load energyXT as a VST effect in SONAR.. that seems to work

that was about live, but it should work in other hosts as well.. the eXT solution should work anyway.

Thanks, the eXT solution is what finally works for me. Honestly, they should just bundle eXT and LiveSlice together.

good idea... I'll ask Jorgen if he'd be interested in offering crossgrade / bundle deals. I keep advertising his product anyways, and the default LiveSlice color scheme matches energy xtDrApostropheX wrote:Thanks, the eXT solution is what finally works for me. Excellent! I'm happy to hear you'd consider it. LiveSlice benefits from eXT because of the excellent audio and MIDI routing eXT provides to LiveSlice and eXT benefits from LiveSlice by providing a way to tempo-match loops (putting it very basically!).

This would make a dynamite combo!
You know, i was thinking about the idea of eliminating the Slicer section (which was mentioned before) and here is where it would benefit.
Imagine having the ability to simply drag audio tracks from EXT directly to Liveslice's arrangement window which would automatically add a new arrangement track.
Talk about realtime loop manipulation!
Within EXT, you create a MIDI track, render to new audio track and simply drag the rendered track directly to the arrangement window within Liveslice...Boom! you are all set to go.
All the settings normally associated with the Slicer (slices, sensitivity, beats etc.) would be available for each arrangement track.
I know the Beats settings is already available in the arrangement section as a global feature, but going with the idea of eliminating the Slicer section, the Beats setting could be available exclusively for each track.
Of course, the FR to allow for more than 64 beats per loop would also have to be implemented.

Oh shit, i just thought of an even better idea!!
Ohm, would it be possible to work out a deal with Jorgen where you can make an exclusive Liveslice comp???
So picture it like a standard EXT sequencer but each track has all the features of a Liveslice arrangement track!!!!
Directly record onto the LS comp (ins and outs match users soundcard just like any standard sequencer) and each track is automatically available for loop manipulation.

Edit: AND......... each LS comp can be assigned to a MIDI note for MIDI triggering ala the current arrangement cells in LS (R click on the comp in the main window, select assign MIDI note- or something like that).
So bascially each comp is an instance of an LS arrangement which can contain one track or ten tracks.
As you know, within EXT's main window, you can copy comps by CNTRL/LMB drag. This is how a whole arrangement (LS comp) can be duplicated.
My mind is going every which way right now so these are just ideas but man...it would be cool!

one thing is to promote the two apps together, quite another thing is merging the actual code. But if Jorgen releases the big "Energy-XT-sequencer-track-plugin-development-kit" I'll be right there with a liveslice comp.
The ideas are good, but getting two completely different apps to work together is not as easy as it may seem.
