Excuse my lack of knowledge on guitar music, but what is a cabinet?

And you guys have answered more questions then I could have asked, Thanks.

The speaker enclosure hooked to the amplifier, ie. a cab.

Drive your own mixer right up into the red until it distorts to experience your own cheap analouge distortion.

PS: Seriously, this works a treat if you have a nice mixer Mackie or better!!

my old guitar amp head had about 12 preamp tubes... or was it 12 in total??? well it had 4 power amp tubes (the big ones) and well yeah I guess 8 small ones....

My beloved Bassman (just sold) had 7 - 3 preamp, 4 power stage, and that was mono with a solid-state rectifier. Just imagine what it could have been....

Barry who runs Ampmaker is a fantastic human being. He always answers questions with patience and honesty; I can't say enough good things about him.

+1 for AX84, bloody shame I really don't have the energy.

Valve amps don't always dept. - I used to have a little red guitar amp with only ONE tube and an EMI elliptical speaker. Sounded great but quiet, wish I still had it!
