Could you try downloading and installing the latest IL Downloader beta from our Looptalk forum (Support section on www.flstudio.com)?

Post

downloader didn't fix it

I completely removed directwave and the downloader and reinstalled the latest versions of both.
that seems to have fixed it ! :-)

:-o samplezone download servers are zippy !!!

It's back again.
opening any of the downloaded content from Samplezone makes EXT and Cubase go *poof*

Total bummer :-(

Can you give me some steps to reproduce this?

Post

OK

I completely cleared my computer of Directwave and FL downloader

Installed Directwave 1.21
Installed the latest beta downloader from the forums
Downloaded some sounds using "select preset"

Now - I think I may have spotted a clue in some recent digging around.

I noticed that some of the sounds I downloaded would go into the correct "Samplezone" folder. Other times, they would be downloaded to C:\ (as if the FL downloader was not picking up the default directory from Directwave). I moved these items to the correct folder manually. In this screenshot, you can see that the FLDownloader is not "in-sync" with Directwave - it thinks I have only downloaded one item, whereas you can see all the items in the Directwave library window.

Right now, Directwave causes the following error when i double-click on an item in the library.
I have checked that the item I try to load is in the library location (dwp file and associated samples).

I'm sure that this is an oddball, Reflex - otherwise everyone would be shouting about it. Hopefully you can give me a pointer to fixing it.

Breaking News !

I normally have these settings ticked in the options page :

* Extract Root from Filename
* Pitch Analysis after Sample Load

If I load up DW and select from the library with these settings "on", I get the error.

If I load up DW and uncheck these settings, patches will load normally.

If I load a patch with the settings unchecked, then go into options and check them, subsequent patches will load normally

Update

It seems to be the "Pitch Analysis after Sample Load" setting which is causing the problem.

Can DirectWave import nki-files with this update?

Nothing has changed in this regard, yet.

I downloaded the 1.21 demo and it has some great features, is easy to use and tracks prefectly. However there's one major drawback - it only plays samples back at half volume! I have its volume all the way up, the velocity maxed, and noticed that if I turn on the FX Drive I can get a little more volume but its annoying to have it at a lower volume than the rest of my VSTi's. My samples are fully normalized too, even the Melotron samples included are at half volume. My soundcard mixer is all the way up too, what's the deal?
