hosts with direct REX2 support?

are there any hosts that support REX2 files directly the same way as they do Acidized WAV files?
i.e., drag and drop from browser, insert several different files into the same audio track, "roller-paint" multiple instances
or is there something about the file-format or the licensing that makes this unlikely?
thanks ...

Cubase can do this for example.
However since I'm using Kontakt and even Stylus RMX more and more lately, I barely use this function anymore. I just let the loops trigger by stylus, spice them up a bit (FX or Stylus internal stuff) and let the glitching and retriggering be handled via MIDI. SOmetimes I even add dblue glitch. Can't get any simpler IMO.

thanks for your replies
I should have specified "without a Rex player or other sample player" -- but so far that seems the only way to use them in most hosts

I have Cubase SE3 and it can import REX files straight into an audio track and it will play them in sync, just as you request.
SE3 is about £100 - but you can get a hefty discount if you have an old Cubasis lying around (as I did
)
<edit> - sorry compyfox - you already said that

The biggest issue, licensing-wise, is that the Props won't license either RX2 libraries or ReWire to non-commercial developers. That means that smaller devs may not bother implementing RX2 natively, but instead leave it to plugin writers to deal with.havran wrote:or is there something about the file-format or the licensing that makes this unlikely?
Problem with Logic > 5 is that big dongle, er, I mean Mac attached to it

And you can also paint your patterns in FL Studio. The Fruity Slicer is excellent with REX2 files.Lance wrote:Orion [Sampler]
REX2 files need a proper sampler not just 'wav-painting idiocy'. But you can 'paint' your patterns in Orion.
