i'm having host envy and confusion..
i'm using T2 and i'm happy with what it can do, but i'm not digging it's approach to audio editing and i find i have to mouse around a little more than i like...i came up with Protools/Studio Vision/Sample Cell and i'm stil used to the old cut & paste style...i used to be an audio person for a job and logged many hours editing, and love it or hate PT, it works great...but i'm not buying into it anymore (and i've been tempted) because i like where i'm at now with PC, VST, and picking and choosing my hardware/software w/o a company telling me what to buy (except for Emu...hey, it was cheap and EmuX2 rocks!)
but after trying several wave editors and looking at DAW options, i'm getting a wandering eye...Sonor is very tempting, seems to pack it all and maybe close to what i was used to (but with lots of built in goodies i w may or may not use), and there are lots of inexpensive options that seem to have the basics covered...and there are other options like energyXT and Live, shit that's different in approach...
anyway: which one is the best? what do you use and why?

for audio editing might as well just use it's external audio option... i use adobe audition and its awesome to export a clip out to it and edit it destructively etc

You're talking about hosts war ? Hum, I hope that a magazine will make a "clash" like that :
Pro Tools 7 / Samplitude 9 / Sonar 6 / Cubase 4 / Live 6 / Energy XT 2 (coming soon I think ?) / Tracktion 2 / Digital Performer 5 / Logic Pro 8 (it's coming ?) / Reaper 1 / FL Studio 6.
That would be great, but a hard task to compare them all.

i'm finding it's too hard to try every demo out, learn the new commands, find every function, etc...everybody seems to argue about it anyway, i figure why not a shootout all in one spot...
but that's me, others will be happy with what they got...

Some folks tore a strip off of me for objecting to calling all these apps "sequencers". But I know, and most of you know that they're not all the same type of apps. They may have overlapping feature sets, but some are optimised as "sequencers" for building tunes from loops, samples and MIDI, and some are optimised as "multitrack recorders/editors" for recording editing and mixing audio.
My needs are for the latter; sounds like Chucky's are too.
For home use I've mostly used CoolEdit Pro, SAWPRO, nTrack, and lately, Reaper. These have given me the editing tools I want. (I always couple them with CoolEdit 2000, which is still my favourite destructive WAV editor)
