PSP Mastercomp? or Sonalksis SV-315?
PSP MasterQ? or Sonalksis SV-517?

(Yes I'm still trying to further reduce my collection, and maybe I should sell them all, if I cannot tell the difference) :oops:

My vote goes for the Sonalksis SV - 517 EQ.

Hard to decide seeing that they are so much alike! :)

Id go with PSP Neon and Mastercomp

Any specific reasons why? I'm trying to learn here ;).

depends on the mix in _every_ case ... and besides that: why only these few choices?

In all honesty, I'd go with Voxengo HarmoniEQ and Marquis Compressor over these, but if I had to choose of the two you mention...

Both compressors are great but I think the PSP is better.

EQ, not really a fan of either of them for mastering. Your better off with something that can do linear phase EQing for mastering. HarmoniEQ has a linear phase option which sounds smooth as silk.

Just my 2 cents

For mastering, a better choice would be PSP Neon HR for the EQ and for the compressor I use the Waves SSL G-Master Buss Compressor.

Only these few choices because I have those now. (I also have Kjaerhus Gold and Blue Tubes, which are not specifically mastering products).

I might keep them all, and practice practice practice until I grow into them. Otherwise I might sell some of them, although that feels like I'm betraying the developers :oops:...

With synths and FX I can more or less make up my own mind, but with VST's like these, for which I'm too much a novice to use, I'm not sure what to do.

I chose the Sonalksis EQ because it takes
less screen space, and, I can adjust the EQ
using the graph.

Well, depends on the project, but generally I would take the Sonalksis-comp. EQ is harder. I have no experience with MasterQ. I would generally not take the Sonalksis EQ, not transparent enough and a little grainy in the top I think...
