This is a list of free Impulse Responses I started on an older thread which pre-dated this one.
I've added all from that thread, this thread and a few more finds .....
Since this thread has been stickied, perhaps LIMITAPROACHINGINFINITY can add these in the first post, so it's not lost on page 7?

Hi there,
I've recently been collecting free reverb Impulse Response files.
Here's the ones I've found, anyone got other FREE ones?

Just found on the internet: great impulses from mainly
a 5150 and some other amps\cabs:www.esnips.com/web/KeiffersGuitarClips
great in Boogex.
I use it with a Tubeworks tubedriver (hardware)for distortion and keep the Boogex plug clean.
Sounds great.

well i've been trying to listen to convolution demos at the few sites that had them and so far am entirely unimpressed. the site with the most demos including some room impulses all sounded terrible. pretty much EVERY impulse i heard sounded the same, namely blurry as heck like a plate reverb feeding a plate reverb ad infinitum. all i've heard of convolution reverbs is blurring. the dedicated room effects sound pretty much the same.

are there any mp3 demos that show that convolution really can make sounds sound like they're in real acoustic spaces? so far i haven't heard anything remotely realistic and am starting to think it's all tin eared hype. i can see using convolution once in a great while for blurring effects, but i'm starting to doubt if it can really make great meat and potatos reverbs for everyday use.

the one hall demo i heard was PARTICULARLY bad. it ended up as just another blurred resonance. real spaces don't sound like that.

Download some demos from that link. Oh, if you paste the links to your download manager you might have more success. I think it is the same for the SpaceNet one's too?

I had a problem whith the 1-1-1net impulses, the wave version's did not work properly? They were designed for Alitverb but there were wave versions too. I was getting some type static on the one I downloaded. But, they look quite good don't they.

And they are all quite different too in the methods they use to create them, whether real or artificial. You sought have to try them all and work out what works for you....mmmm....
