Hi all Im a bit out of the loop with SampleTank stuff.
I abandoned Cubase last year and have been using Reason for most of what I do since then . The pressure built up though and I have succumbed to my yearning for new toys and bought Ableton.
I dug out my SampleTank and installed the lastest update and all the freebies from the IK site. The only proble Im having is that the Free Multi FX dont load.
Is this a known issue or do you reckon Im doing something wrong.

Hmm. Not sure. That would be a good question for IK Tech support though. I could see if I still have those somewhere and try it on mine when I get the chance (or anyone else can too).
You use Reason? Have you checked out our Sonic Refills on www.esoundz.com?

Squids-
Wasn't there a compatibility problem with the free FX in the original Sampletank 2.x update? I don't know if it was resolved with the 2.1.1 fix because I never got around to re-installing, but I definitely remember some kind of incompatibility problem with the first one.

The old multifx patches that we did won't work with the new ST2.1 or 2.2 We'll have to do new ones.

Woo Hoo!
I found a way to convert Multi FX, as long as you still have ST2.0.something installed.
- open ST2.0 (the orange GUI)
- [step 1] load Instruments into all 16 parts
- [step 2] for each part load one of the multiFX
- [step 3] save the entire module as a Module preset, named, e.g. multi01.ikmp.
- [step 4] in Explorer, copy the saved module preset from the ST2.0 preset folder, e.g.
C:\Program Files\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 2\SampleTank 2 Presets
to the ST2.x preset folder, e.g.
C:\Program Files\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 2.x\Presets
- open ST2.2 (the blue GUI)
- refresh the Multis list
- [step 5] select the module preset
- [step 6] for each part, select it,
and [step 7] click [Save multi] and save the Multi FX with the same name as it had in
ST2.0 [step 8]
Repeat as necessary.

see this big pic for the steps:

it took me 45 minutes to work out what to do and to transfer the 50 Freebie Multi FX.
