Everyone has a different preference. That's why we have Intel vs AMD, Mac vs PC, Cubase vs Sonar etc etc...some don't like Cubase, I do, but I don't expect everyone to. Some don't like Cubase, and I'm sure they don't expect everyone else to dislike it.

This type of argument however doesn't always hold true. For example, recently I've been tempted to vote Tory, and suddenly have the overwhelming urge to self-harm because of it.

SX3.1

Been using solid for 12 months now, since the last update. Absolutely rock solid. Never even a sign of a crash at all. It's a fantastic tool.

However, I will await V4.03 - at least - until upgrading toSX4.

I get more done in Cubase than I do in all my other apps combined ie: Live 5, Fl Studio, XT, and Acid. Sure I must have something else..can't keep up with it all!

i'm cool now, but don't let me see you doing this again. we're here to help each other out. if his experience was bad, he has a right to say that. you have a right to say yours was good. but what you don't have a right to do, is to make some guy look like a fool for saying his experience was bad.

Thanks for understanding Gary. I am getting linearly older but exponentially slower and crankier. I know very well that Cubase is the thing for many and have friends who love it. But it is completely unusable in my hands. For example when I go onto their DAWs and I try to generate something that I can create with my eyes closed in FLS, Live, eXT or Sonar, I invariably end up throwing my hand in the air cursing.

I fully understand, Beardedone. I can't believe we're even retreading this topic again...everyone hates everyone else's host. They all suck, we know it, let's leave it there. Although I gotta say, in the spirit of détente, Sonar 6 is looking sexy.

Thanks bduffy. My point is that I wish I loved it too. It is the seminal VST host. I hate being like the village idiot. it's bad enough living in a Province amoungst francophones I can barely understand.

What if he was (if I might borrow from Scott Adams) saying he couldn't stand Elbonians? Say he told us a story about having been ripped off by an Elbonian on Ebay and now he has formed the opinion that you can't trust Elbonians. Would you want anyone to try to change his mind or is it OK to be prejudiced against an ethnic group based on your experience of a small sample?

The whole PC world would crumble to dust if this was allowed to stand

I understand and can support the idea that we should be respectful of one another here but I don't think we need to go as far as you seem to require.

Hehe... true. But at least now Steinberg is playing catch up again, for a while it seemed they had given up.

A side by side comparison doesn't look so bad now with 4 as it did earlier.

Cubase 4 advert !
