This one was inspired by Jens' lyrics in the 'lyrics needing songs' thread that used to be stickied and no longer is unfortunately.
But I'm glad someone pointed me in the right direction to the old thread where I found Jens' lyrics and started hearing this song in my head while reading it.
Finally got a chance to record it tonight.
Me on my Larrivee (capoed at 5th fret), sampletank se piano and me on vocals.
New and improved version (with a little better timing and better piano sound thanks to Splendid soundfont and ariesverb)

Nice one Scott and Jens, definitly a keeper!
The guitar sounds great and it kind of reminds me of the sound in "Hey You" or something out of a Tim Buckley tune.
Great tune!
(and a yes for the sticky)

Very sweet. Congrats to both of you.
Hmm 2:00 exactly. It could be a nice entry to the monthly contests.
Only a minor comment: the final guitar chord after the word "missing" could be ... errrr ... missing

zeoy,
The 2 minutes was just a coincidence. Can't use it for future monthly contests since it wasn't composed for the contest. Interesting idea about the missing last chord.
Also, I gave a listen to your performance with your son. That had to be a blast.

yes, lost threads need to be stickied, especially for words like this that
as I have said before, there needs to be a thread for lost chord progressions, which would have to be sticky too,as they might just blow away like these words might have
farking choice delicate song, beautiful, bitter sweet, poignant, world weary
