Well.. the compressor is extremely good, that's for sure but the EQ is starting to look a bit long in the tooth (though it does possess some magic). The high end is a bit harsh due to aliasing but the lows are very good and even with no eq bands cutting or boosting it does something to the sound which is a bit similar to dithering or such.. subtle non-linearities. (this can be both a curse and a blessing)

I like the eq. It's very simple and it has a very clear sound. Low cpu. Good Set up options too.

Love both these plug-ins. The lack of CPU with the EQ is insane, too bad the compressor doesn't boast the same light footprint! It's currently my favourite compressor.

I use the 517 EQ. Always my first choice
for rolling off unecessary ultra high frequencies.

I have and use both the SV-517 EQ and the SV-315 Compressor, though admittiedly not as much as I once did. As often as not I find myself reaching for Voxengo or Nomad Factory Analog Signature these days.

That said, I still use the CQ1-Multiband Compander a goodly amount (both for mixing and pre-mastering). When used carefully it can be extremely handy. It was especially useful for making a few tweaks when sending off the last project I mixed to the mastering house.

Still, I can't help but note that there have been very few significant updates (none that I know of) of any of their plugins. That is in staggering contrast to Voxengo (for example). And none of the Sonalksis plugins are so good that they would not benefit from some tweaking (the sometimes gtitty top of the EQ, for example, is I think a legitimate point).

I posted a small blurb about them on my my blog but not a big review or anything. I'm just happy about them, they work great, sound great, and are so light on the cpu it's crazy.

I heard the gate really is coming soon too which I'm sure will be good.

M'Snah, you can have the SV-315 pretty clean on a master and it will work well in my experience, but you can also get it to pump on individual tracks as well (without getting to crazy, but enough to add a little punch and personality).

Print out a copy of the manual if you get a chance on them both to understand the settings better and whatnot. It helped me a lot.
