Hi everyone!
I'm quite fond of using delays where the delaytime can be modulated in some situations. So far I've been doing this using the ModDelay that is bundled with Cubase/Nuendo. This unit works fine, but it a little limited: only one delay line, no panning possible, no control over modulation speed etc.
I've been looking around a little to find delay unit that allows for a little bit more control than this, but it seems that delays with modulation are pretty few and far between and the ones I've found have had monstrous amounts of features so I've still pretty much stuck with what I've got. Does anyone know of a delay unit (preferably freeware, I'm a cheap bastard you see) that features modulation but does not look like someone ripped out a really busy control panel from a spaceship and used it for a GUI? (not that there's anything wrong with doing that, it's just that I don't always want to have that many options)

2nd on the kiesel delay. I like the PSP 42 also. Couldn't get my head around Ohmboyz :s

Why don't you put your favorite modulator after your favorite delay in the chain ?!?!
Personally I like the inboard double delay in cubase so just put a modulator (like the inboard one in SX) after !

e-phonic retro delay allows modulation (lfo based) of the delay time as well as filter cutoff).

Thanks for the tips everyone, especially the one on Kiesel which seems very much like the kind of thing I've been looking for. Gonna check the demos of the Ohmboyz and the 806 too, although those are gonna have to wait even I find them good ("money, it's a crime..."). Going to take a closer look at some stuff (like retrodelay) that I've tried but never taken the time to use and abuse thorougly enough.

It might not be the ticket, but NUSofting's Morphing Delay at least sounds like a match... And it's cheap like you!

Morphing Delay is great indeed, it can sound as a standard delay or totally wicked if you want it to.

Ohmboys has a great sound, but a really whacked signal routing concept that doesn't work for me at all. Which is disappointing.
SonicFlavours DP-5 is easy to use with a nice logical GUI.
I've got all the PSP delays in an amazing group buy deal, and it's taking a bit of time to get used to their GUI. I haven't decided whether I like them enough, or if I need to spring for the DP-5 as well.
It's amazing how many delays don't offer modulation, or offer it but with very imprecise controls. This is something that needs very subtle amounts.
