Title says it all. In Cubase SX3 I experience extensive crackle and noise when I try to play a Synthedit VSTi. Does anyone experience this as well?

Maybe provide your setup info. Occasionally I have an SE plug cause problems, but generally they run fine in SX 3.

there are light to heavy SE VSTi synth. give us more infos.

I know from experience (my own Zodiac-6 synth) that GUI-heavy SE synths occasionally require a higher latency setting than most other plugs. While I ordinarily run my system at 5ms, the Zodiac sometimes forces me up to 10ms to avoid crackling.

Yeah ok, maybe I should push up the latency... I'm normally running 3,5 ms input latency and 18 ms output latency with the Lexicon Omega soundcard, but maybe I should try some other setting. The synths in question are Meddle and Superwave Performer.
EDIT: Thanx, increasing the buffer size helped the problem.

Glad you fixed it. Both those synths are particularily demanding. I found Meddle and the other Boris synths less than stable and stopped using them.

Lexicon Omega? I remember looking at the previous incarnation of Lexicon soundcards, and very very nearly bought one (especially because of the dual MPX processors and DB soft limiters on the inputs.) Didn't buy in the end, as they were just about to discontinue support for them.

Are the Omegas new...or just a different name in a different country for their older range?
I'm interested if Lexicon have re-entered the soundcard market...I hadn't heard of it though. My Aardvark is perfectly good enough for my needs, but they went belly up a while ago, so any new OS is going to make it redundant...

...but if Lexicon are back in the game, they might be an alternative for me, rather than spending the extra on something like RME...

I bought the Omega because the price was right, and I got the Pantheon reverb as an added bonus. It's a good laptop card, and for my main setup it's only temporary until I can afford a MOTU I/O setup...

Aha...muchos gracias. I'll surf over and take a long close look at that link. This somehow completely passed me by. Those old Core cards really wetted my appetite at the time. Maybe I can get all moist again this time around

Hmmm. I see they're USB, and have a max sampling rate of 48KHz. I mostly use 44.1, but I'd be very wary of having a sound card that's not future-proof at least for a few years. It doesn't appear to be quite up to the standard of the Core cards.

It seems these cards are more designed for laptops.

I got interested in the MX200 though...I see they still retain dbx dynamics. Seems like it's more of a proper multiFX in its aim. Any idea how the MX200 compares in terms of reverb with the PCMs, or does it use MPX algorithms? I feel the need to splash out on some new h/w, and Lexicon is always a good place to start looking.
