Well, I can tell you some info on this... a little advance of announcement info. What we're doing is releasing Stereo Master Editions this month (September) for the artists like Steve Gadd, John Blackwell, Bill Bruford, Danny Gottlieb, Ed Greene (including us having him play all of his and even a lot of other's Steely Dan grooves in a new session) and then coming up soon after will be Jerry Marotta and Nick D'Virgilio for your Gabriel/Genesis fix. ;) Nick just played with Chris Squire this past weekend with his fellow Bearded Spocks. It was a Rickenbacker party at the House of Blues. Here's a link if you want to see it:

Nick and I also got to play with Jon Anderson as well several years ago if anyone is curious to see that. I might post the whole thing on YouTube or something. Why not?

Now, a lot of the stereo style titles ended up being Rex Paks. We will have Apple Loop Paks, Wave Paks and Multi Paks (update from Rex Pak to multi pak is only $20. to get the AL and Wave versions and actually only $10 more to get just the AL or the Wave if that's all you need). So, they are the Studio ProFile sessions they just aren't called Studio ProFiles because... there are going to be NEW Studio ProFile style sessions in the works but the main focus of the Studio ProFile series will actually be the artist titles.

Now, what of the multi-tracks then you ask? Glad you asked. We're releasing a variety of style-based and artist-based multitrack loops with associated kit libraries in SAMPLER formats such as Kontakt 2 and that is going to start in October but sooner if at all possible. They will be broken down into One Kit, Loops with that Kit so it is consistent. That means there will be three different British Rock titles using the three different kits. They will vary in price but they will be cheaper so instead of them all being $300-500 they will be several hundred less which I think will be great for the person who wants SPECIFICALLY the "Bonham Kit and Grooves" but doesn't need the "Ringo Kit and Grooves" which sound completely different (even though they are both Ludwigs).

Then we will be releasing some ProTools Session and multitrack Wave, Apple Loops and Rex versions as well but only certain titles and we'll see how people get on with multitracks that way. It's not as "portable" to load up tracks as it is ready to go in a sampler is the concern. Most of the people who have the Studio ProFile Special Edition (ahhh which we have a free update and the discs arrive on Tuesday I am told... finally!) seem to be using the stereo loops. So we focused on that first but as far as multitracks we'll deliver them in whatever format the majority of people want. We just want to do it in a way that will be best. I mean, certain things like overheads need to be pre-panned hard left and right and... well, with a lot of mic options it is easy for someone to make it sound bad so we're trying to make it more bulletproof and easy to get a good mix. That's why the sampler formats work nice because they can be pre-layered and panned so you just load up one patch for the loop and tweak the asssigned controllers per "channel" to get your mix and you can always bounce it to audio tracks (even only using the channels you need... maybe you don't even need the tom mics for example, depends on your tune!).

I WILL be doing mad tutorials on all of this stuff soon so people can see it all in context. There's a lot of stuff going on and things we've worked on for years to bring to you and seeing it all come together is exciting. But, if you like the British Rock stuff then go pick up Vintage Rock Rex Pak on www.esoundz.com That title really is great! I've been using it in my music quite a bit lately. Also, Nashville Pop, Sixties Motown... these Rex Paks are great value and the loops are unique and inspiring. If you like Studio ProFiles then you can get these now. If we come out with multitrack versions of any of those you can just upgrade for a discount.

Wow that was a Squidsfull! ;)

Hi Squids,
Wow, might be time to switch to decaf.
Seriously, this sounds great and big thumbs up to the Kontakt 2 format!
Some of the Soniccouture sample sets have the ability to mix the mike settings and it is a great feature and simple to use. 8)
Cheers

Thanks for the update. I was starting to wonder myself. As I recall, the price of the group buy is still supposed to fully apply towards one of the full sets, right?

Correct. You can alternately apply it toward R.A.W. as well.
