That would be great. As well as the EQ nodes I mentioned. And also, numerical displays for properties would also be very handy, and is much requested. Surely all of that is more useful and a font makeover?

Well Torben promised a "classic gate", so I guess we have to wait and see if there'll be a major update on the classic series (and the GUI on the Gold series) or not.

Besides, I've been active here for quite the many years and I've seen very little change. Maybe it's you who has changed instead, and grown out of some old mindset that used to make you feel good about KVR? I think you may be barking up the wrong tree, blaming the forum for any attitude changes..

I think GUI is very important even if we don't admit it.
Just ask any marketing person what statistics show about packaging a product right.
It's in the subconscious, it's a vibe, a feeling you get when you look at something.

Pretty subjective no doubt but I must admit I find the new style gui's very easy on the eye.
Agree with all comments regarding functionality being first & foremost.

Wait wait wait. I thought the GAG GUI was only slightly different compared to the other Gold series GUI's (other font, slightly different colors), or do you mean the one that's bundled with Sonar now (the GAC)?

Cause if it's the later, yeah I'd also like to see a version that looks like that, then again... who am I to judge? I'm still using the Classic Series.

That's not what I wanted to say, I just think that in my view, using the Gold Series every time I need to mix, it's more pleasant for my eyes that the original GUI, which is too hard for long time use.

Cool, I know a board (and a chatroom) where you're instantly banned from the boards, if you do minor trolling, roffling *yeah, you heard right* and critisizing the layout of the homepage.

But in all seriousness, you're right. Take a look at the Cubase thread for example. One posts something, the other one is like "OMG eXT is so much better, Cubase is just a ripoff", the next one is like "Logic was better anyway" and so on and so on.

Well I wouldn't mind a new GUI, the one from the Sonar bundled plugin (GAC) sure looks nice, but if Torben likes to keep that GUI, well... it's not like we can't still use those plugins, can we?

Given that skinning can often drastically change the whole interface, not just colors (Ohm Force for example), wanting a different skin is no less valid than wanting to be able to press Shift while tweaking a knob. They are both trivial to people who don't want them, important to those that do. Neither has any effect on the sound, but both can have effect on your ability to get the sound you want.

At a bare minimum they engage people to personalize their experience with your code. Witness Wusikstation, eXT, et al. And they give a chance for those who are accomplished graphic artists to contribute to our scene, like amoeba, Rune, grymjack, pHz, ArtVera, many others...

A lot of people might grumble "I don't want Torben wasting time skinning". That's valid, but that's all the more reason to have a generic skinning ability in place - it delegates all the work to people who want to do it - the artists and users.
