Crater (Krater in greek) or Meteorite (Meteor, Meteriod), because one is formed from an impact and can change shape/form over time once created. Chasm. Astroid. Armageddon. DMT = Drum Morph Thing. DxM. Ugo M.D. (Morph Drums).

hmmm. Too vauge for a vst plugin? Or maybe not, considering some of the crazy names out there? I was thinking along the lines of the original intended name and what the plugin does.

one of the sections in this synth is actually called thud. i've named each section after the types of sounds they produce, rather than after real world drum names. (since these dont really sound like real world drums.)
rats.... (about the name, that is...I like your idea for naming the sections for their sounds :hihi: )
I suppose "Dolemite" would cause even more ruckus...though I think that would be a great name for it 8)
...what the heck...maybe "ruckus" would be good?

DMT dimethyl triptamine = vitamin consciousness :)

Howabout "Reginald My Not-So-Bright-Cousin"? I am drunk, successfully used the-morphing-drum-synth-formerly-known-as-Impact live tonight! How badass is that? I was all like, "Yo, meet my little friend Impact" and now I'll be the only person ever to do so :(

I liked the name. I am drunk. It worked, it was cool as hell.

I was going to suggest "Thonk" but them I googled into this:

So I guess there's software called that. Very, very strange.

What about THRAK ?

Or perhaps even B'BOOM, to suggest another KC title... :D

"Thor" would be a cool name because the hammer implies hitting...

"BattleDrum"

"TransDrum"

"Percolator"

"BeatBat" ...with a cool vampire bat logo

"TransTrigger"

Ugo, I would keep the name Impact...but change the C to a K or something like that. Don't let digidesign scare you....trust me, I've pissed off quite a few companies, lol, Access included (due to a pro-sounds bank having virus in the name) and the worst that happens is someone sends you a breif "please re-name your product, as it infringes on our blah blah blah..." and then you just follow suit and everyone's happy. No lawsuits or anything. Besides, you should consider it a good thing if you can scare Digidesign into thinking your drum synth might have an negative impact (no pun intended) on their compressor sales...give'em a run for their money. ;)

Peace 8)

Reaper-Cushion if you want to be sued by Cockos, or even Perc-Key if you want to be sued by JackDark :hihi:
Now seriously, I actually like Repercussion better than Impact to be honest...
The mind boggles.

Post

Another sigh: Repercussion

OTOH, there is some pretty interesting stuff going on there!

Digidesign also has trademarked plug-ins called "Strike" and "Smack". :-)

There's also another VI called "TrueStrike" that's a drum plug-in
