Thanks guys. That's The Boss CE1 is the only pedal I ever bought. I used it once didn't and put it away. No I don't hjave UAD - It is still outside of my budget range. I'd rather udgrade my computer than spend 1K on a DSP based effects rack that doesn't work well with my hosts.
Anyway this doesn't answer my mosre recent headache about Wanyne Krantz' sound on "Bright Nitegown" I can find the wah alraedy but I cannot find the right amp/cab combination.
Best regards,
Gordon

Well...I don't have Morph The Cat but....
According to his website, Krantz uses a Marshall 2553 (Silver Jubilee) amp with either 2X12 or 4X12 Celestions. Whether that was the studio rig or what they were trying to reproduce in the studio is another thing
The 2553 was a mini-stack 50/25w lead with 3 ECC83 pre-amp valves and 2XEL34 power amp valves.
The JCM800 (British Lead 1 is based upon this) is a 100w lead with 3 ECC83 pre-amp valves and 4XEL34 power amp valves.
So I would try, if you haven't already, The British Lead 1, change the power amp to 50w EL34, use either the 2X12 Closed Vintage or the 4X12 Closed Vintage 2 (both of those cabs are based upon Marshalls and I think they both had Celestions.)
Don't know if that will help...
Let me know if it works out...

Thanks so much Beergeek. I will try this - worlds beyond what I can do myself since I have no experience with any of these models having only played a real Marshall only a few times for just a few minutes. MESA Boogie I do know a bit better and of course my own amp for many years a late 70's Pignose Crossmx 150R, a solid state two channel single 12" combo. This old girl is now on her last legs.Well...I don't have Morph The Cat but....

I'll sure let you know if this gets me closer to the drek settings I managed to come up with.

Shoot...I have no idea if this will work
I just saw what gear he used, looked up the specs and then matched them against the specs for the AT2 models...
I did happen to know a little about the Marshalls but my main amp for many, many years was a custom made Sunn Solos II (kinda like a Fender Twin). That bad boy was 150w of screaming power and about 300 lbs..
This one isn't mine but that was it basically.
Even with wheels it was a bear...that Pignose was probably built around the same time....IIR, I got it in 1972...73...I don't think I was ever able to turn it up to 10
Ah those were the days, eh?

This works fairly well as does AC1 with an added wah. I think I will be needing the Stomp I/O since I have no way to control the patches - AT2 will be great with a live setup.

Jusr received reply from Wayne Krantz :

hi gordon
glad you enjoyed nitegown
that was a tyler strat, crybaby wah, marshall jubilee w/ 2x12
same setup on pagoda, minus the wah
i'm not too convinced about virtual simulation of guitar, but "do
have at it" as ellington put it
thanks

I am doing one of the coolest programming gig for a band right now. I can't say who it is yet but... ohhhhhhhh dudes this is coooooooool!!!!!!!!!
I am not saying it's Steely Dan or not Steely Dan, Yes or not Yes (no), Pink Floyd with Roger Waters or not Pink Floyd and not with Roger Waters. I do not program in a box I do not program for a fox, I cannot tell you Sam I am but I am programming for one of my favorite bands. That doesn't really rhyme and I NEVER go Dr. Suess in this forum so you KNOW something's up! Haha. When the coast is clear I will tell you and some of you will be blown away. I think. No, I know some of you will be impressed with this one. It's pretty freakin' cool. Ok, back to your hunting for esoteric Fagen sounds (ironically that is part of this programming gigs... not necessarily Fagen but not not necessarily Fagen... to throw you off... it's not Fagen... haha).

Cool news Dave. I am not good with puzzles, so I will have to wait until the cat's out of the bag.

Hey Gordon...not that I'm trying to talk you out of the StompIO but you do know that there's tons of stuff that you can control from a keyboard in AT2...like controlling the wah from the mod wheel?
I know it's not the same when you're trying to get that feel live but it's cool nonetheless...
Hey Squids, let's put the rumors to rest...it's not me but it could be NOT not me.

Thanks Beergeek but I don't understand how I could tweak the mod wheel while playing guitar. I can route controllers in Brainspawn Forte. Can anyone recommend an decent expression foot pedal.
Actually for Brite Nitgown the auto wah works well.
