I'm looking for a synth drum (soundfont or .wav) like the one in General Midi. I have one in the Music Theoria soundfont pack that's been around for a while now, but it sounds a little cheap, and I'm hoping there's something better out there ...

I found a nice synth drum sound font at rhkive, but it has an echo I can't seem to get rid of.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I really need this sound, and, as you can imagine I end up with tons of irrelevant searches in my quest to find this sound when both the words "synth" and "drum" are in there.

Here's a few raw samples for a start: http://meanbeat.cjb.net/
And this one has a few as well: http://machines.hyperreal.org/winky/0022.html?Winky

The same synth drum you can find in General Midi. I just need one in either a Soundfont or .WAV format.

Oh, and thanks to Sascha for the links :).

General MIDI synth drums are most likely more or less a rip off of Rolands TB 808 and 909. You should be able to find tons of those samples on the web.
Btw, you could as well look for, say, Battery sets. They're containing the raw samples, so you can slap them into whatever drum machine.
You may also want to try synthetic drum machines, such as Drumatic.
And in case you got a bit of money, consider getting FXpansions DR-008, which sells for cheap these days (100 bucks or so). Comes with it's internal synth modules (way more flexible than samples) and a whole bunch of samples (around 3GB).

I'd also take drumatic3 for those sounds.
