Simple Fl MIDI question

this may be more of a hardware question, but I thought I'd thrill you all with my ignorance.
My mod wheel (ESQ-1) is not "found" by midi learn functions on synths, say FFtwin. I can how ever "link the last parameter tweaked" through FL and everything works fine.
WHat gives?

Same here, no idea why.
The "info bar" at the top that tells you what stuff is when you hover your cursor over it even tells me that it's picking up my mod wheel.
Seems to be a long-time quirk of FL.
You can make a dashboard preset that links to the hardware output channel/CC# and load it to send out midi that will be picked up by Midi Learn functions in synths, though, I think.
f**k, I'll just try some stuff out and see if I can't figure out a workaround for you, Mr. Tail-Biter.

to be clear, FL doesn't describe the signal it's gettting as "mod wheel" does it? - mine displays nothing until I connect it. The midi light illuminates to identify info is coming in, but until I assign it, it doesn't exist for the plugin.
I finally got my modwheel working correctly I believe - hence the confusion

On a similar note - when I record in Reason it captures any mod wheel events from the controller, but when I export midi from Reason and import midi into FL all the mod wheel events disappear.

Bizarre indeed...
Can you see what data actually gets in, e.g. with MidiOx? Maybe your EsQ sends an extra fine resolution (two data bytes) which confuses the synths...

We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
