We have just released a new version of our Phaser and Stereo Phaser directX and VST plug-ins, with a new user interface and MIDI control capabilities. These plug-ins reproduce the typical analog phasing effect and have been modeled after vintage analog circuits.

New in 2.0:
-Brand new skinnable graphic user interface using Blue Cat's skinning language v1.2.2.
-Advanced MIDI control with customizable parameters curve response and MIDI learn.
-All parameters can now be fine tuned thanks to a text-edit popup window that appears when double clicking on user interface widgets.
-User Manual accessible from plug-in UI.

I haven't tried this but I must say that your stereo chorus has a really superb sound.

I don't have the words to describe it (your site doesn't even say anything in particular as to why it sound so great but then you're not one to write a bunch of senseless hype about your products, I've noticed).

It's sort of "crisp" and "ominous" :(
I guess if words could do justice to sounds then we'd have less music or music for language.

If you like chorus as an effect at all you've got to try it. I'll try the phaser as I imagine that it's based on similar algorithms and sounds very "Blue Cat" also. In fact, now that I think about it, did you significantly change the sound of your recent plug-ins compared to the first batch of ones you made?

Thanks BlueCat. :D

The phaser is actually my favorite because of the range of sounds you can get from it.

There have been a few minor modifications in the algorithms (optimizations, enhanced precision), but no significant changes (except the range of some parameters, like the ability to invert phase for the flanger). Most of the work have been done on the UI and MIDI control functionalities. But many new plug-ins are now knocking at the door... :D

Well, I have a tremendous backlog of plug-ins I'm supposed to be testing out at the moment so I haven't even listened to the phaser yet (! a shocking admission for one such as I !)

But I look forward to diving in tonight, despite the fact that it turned midnight jut now.

Stupid insomnia.

.dll files would be a lot better than installers.

The issue with .dll files is that you need to manually copy the skins as well. An installer is really safer (it also simplifies product updates). We used to propose a zipped dll dowload, and given the downloads ratio we decided to remove them and avoid the extra work.

Ive been using you flanger, and ill download your phaser. All im really downloading these days is really simple yet flexible effects. Like your flanger. Or xhipsynth, or airesverb or xhipcompressor or Mjcompressor. Or Gvst stuff, people who make nice hardcoded low cpu simple plugins. All of the glitsy stuff I rarely use, Id rather combine simple things in my own way. So keep it up!

It's nice to be able to work in a modular way and create your own combinations. But sometimes it's also a good thing to have everything integrated so that you do not need thousands of windows in your DAW :-o .

If you use MIDI control it's fine anyway, but you might need a large control surface!

Man, I gotta finish up with a song but I love one of the phaser settings I got going so[/i] much.

I should just change it into a "Blue Cat" song, now that I think of it.

If it's as crazy as the chorus sound you managed to create last time, I'd be glad to hear it! :)
