What do you think about the quality of Ableton Live's equaliser and the reverb?
I really like the reverb. Since my ears aren't that developed I can't say anything about the eq. I Would be interested to know what you guys think about it and how its sound compares to other eq like Nyquist, Electri-Q, PlParEQ ...

push!

btw. I use EQ 4 alot: sounds clean to me and doesn't use much CPU. Perfect!

I'm not too keen on either the verb or eq in live. the eq sounds a bit harsh, especially if boosting, and the reverb is pretty average even in 'first class' mode.

i do use eq4 in the studio when i need to notch out 'bad' frequencies, but i'm much happier using eliosound's air eq for pretty much everything else. playing live i tend to exclusively use the eq4 and it does do the job ok.

i tend to us live's reverb more as a special effect than as an acoustic space simulator, but i don't really have a high opinion of any native reverbs when compared to decent outboard/dsp cards or convolution. live's reverb certainly isn't markedly worse sounding than most other hosts bundled verbs, and it it quite tweakable.

theyre crap! I tell ya! *shakes fist*
We have to use them through the tracking process tho, the machine we use is too slow ..
EQ sounds like kicking a cardboard box...

EQ3 - fun for doing the DJ thing it's designed for.

EQ4 - average. Compares well against the simple mixer based EQs some other DAWs ship with. However, in Live 5 I most often reach for my Kjaerhus GEQ-7.

EQ8 - absolutely stunning!! My GEQ-7 may soon be gathering dust.

Reverb - good for particular effects on a track, but I like it less as a general use EQ on a bus.
