Darn. I was hoping they would put the BCF2000 standard in the list of controllers.

Yay! I see they are giving printed full operation manuals with Cubase4. That is a truly wonderful thing.

I can see all the reasons for CD manuals etc, but I really miss a proper bound and printed manual. Having to take myself away from the screen and actually read real paper, somehow for me, makes new things sink in a bit better. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I got VST5.1 and there was no manual. First I thought it had just got missed out. Then I got the usual slagging asking on the net where you get a manual from (didn't twig that they'd put the bloody thing on the CD  ) then just outright disappointment that I had no real reading matter.

Sounds like a commitable offence, i know, but I used to know Cubase v3.0 absolutely inside out simply because I'd take the manual with me in quiet times and sit and read a chapter at a time; or I'd read a chapter last thing at night. I could even work the IPS and esoteric stuff like that. Nowadays I surf through the manual on screen and it just never goes in. There are loads of things about SX I haven't learnt simply because I don't have a proper manual.

Maybe I'm just old-fashioned (I'm certainly getting f***ing old :? ) but for this one thing, Steinberg deserve the biggest pat on the back for Cubase 4 god bless 'em, each and every hairy hun. :hihi:

This clears yet another Q of mine I asked over at the Cubase boards, that certain MIDI controllers are still closed out.

The more I get to know about it, the more I'm dissapointed what's missing once again, what was removed, and what will only be available after an upgrade in half a year. *sigh* Oh well.
