Shouldn't you name a preset after him in V2 then? How about "SwordfishTRONbones"?Squids wrote:Oh did I tell you that even TOM WAITS uses Squids Tron Vol. 1 with SampleTank? I must have in this long thread. He's using it for his new musical in LA right now. Didn't want to bring his Chamberlin (which used to be mine ironically) and didn't want to "just use the orchestra". Needed a bit more GRIT!Pretty cool huh?
where is Squids' Tron Collection Volume 2? SAMPLETRON!

When you do the group buy for Vol. 2, it might be a good idea to once again whip out the photos of him coming over to your place to buy that Chamberlin. Those were great.Squids wrote:Oh did I tell you that even TOM WAITS uses Squids Tron Vol. 1 with SampleTank? I must have in this long thread. He's using it for his new musical in LA right now. Oh and it looks like we'll start the group buy on the Squids Tron Vol. 2 some time this month. Start spreading the word early if you want it to be a good one!

i just want to say i'd love to see the tron collection (especially the old one but even the new one) in a more accessible format. i'd even buy just the wavs or aiffs without the programs if the files were named logically, but then i'm odd. anyways it's great to see you're doing more of the stuff that makes samplers fun.
cheers.

(am I being a jerk to bump this by quoting Squids?)
Just kidding -- but hey, it just goes to show how much I love the FIRST volume, that I'm actually sitting here waiting for Volume 2.

No, you guys can bump it. We need a little more time though to do this right. Remember I am also doing this for myself too (which you benefit from) so I want to get a lot of my Otigan grooves in there all organized nicely and stuff like that. Plus, really rare quirky trons like the 360 Systems (a sort of digital Mellotron) and the RMI Keyboard Computer perhaps (sort of closely related kinda... maybe even the old Fairlight CMI too). It won't be long though. Maybe this month we'll start it!
