:hihi: same w/sonar6 live6 and ext2 ... people are excited.

i'm seriously itching to upgrade some of my old stuff to new vers possibly. sonar2 -> 6 for $250 ... sx1 -> cubase4 also $250. sadder still is i shouldn't even bother since i dont have much time anyway. sonar6 just looks yummy. i wish they'd release the demo! and say what you like about cubase, it's also looking mighty tasty. please mackie save me from myself and release the beta of T!

i was even considering a edirol pcr-m80 since it integrates well with s6 ACT. the videos are very very persuasive on youtube.. damn! damn! i say...

Post

what i should do is just buy live6 instead -- atleast it offers more unique stuff to compliment stuff.

You should be over at the Steinberg boards, there's at least 8x that ammount of Cubase 4 blaberizing, hate love and the usual memme.

It's harmless at KVR.

I am sure that steinberg won't fix that poor multi monitor support with cubase 4!

that is a shameful crime, because of that i recommend that cubase ne shouldn't be bought by anybody

Post

Do you mean "monitor support" in terms of screens or actual speakers?

If it's the first, I run on dual screens - no problem.
If it's the second, Cubase 4 has multi monitoring support with easy switching. You could do that in the earlier sX version, too. But only with massive rerouting.

oh i meant displays! of course b-but the problem is that if i try to use cubase main window maximized! and after that i try maximizing a sub windows! like piano roll editor it maximized it so it has size of two monitors instead of one and that is very unusable!?

Post

That's why you use "window mode", not "maximising" silly. You loose what? 5pix alltogether in vertical and horizontal? But you don't have the problems with your screens anymore.

Also called "configuring Workspace", you can even store presets or a "master project file" that you can access while creating new songs. This way you always have your settings. Ever thought about that?

Read in your manual about "global settings/setup". Please don't scream around for something that's already there and doesn't really need an improovement. Is just a cosmetic issue, not a necessary feature.

I don't scream around either if I'm in front of two large 32channel hardware mixers "OMG can't you optimize this stuff?! This is so overloaded, yo!"

well sure! if stuff on the left side of the compliment operator is traditional sequencers and traditional hosts and stuff on the right side of the compliment operator is non-traditional sequencer with non-traditional gapless composition capabilities :D

I wonder... Would it be better to buy an update from the store, or online at the distributor... Online may be faster, but (for shipment costs and no regular customer discount) also more expensive...

absolutely --- the basic principle is: you can complement stuff (that does not have stuff) with stuff (that does have stuff)

the stores can't sell the upgrade. only the distributors sell it...

That makes the choice a lot easier, I must say.
