VST chainer plug-ins - what does it all?

Hi,
Maybe this has been answered before (YES, I did a search, but have not found anything) ---
I am searching for a VST chainer plug-in that can load a number of VST effects and loop audio data through (and save all settings of all plug-ins in the chain within the host song file). BUT, it also has to
- work with fx-teleport from fx-max on the slave machine, AND
- work with the waves.com waveshell 5.2 plug-ins (VST shell plug-in integration, which means select one of the plug-ins in the shell and recall this automatically upon reloading the song) - I think this will require VST version 2.3 (since the waveshell plug-ins show this version).
Until now, I could not find a chainer plug-in which does this.
Anybody?

1. It seems Acon does not work with FX-teleport and not with Waveshell. I have tried this yesterday. Whenever I reload a previously saved project, there is no sound and the chainer plug-in crashes when I try to open a plug-in editor window. Also, it lets me chose Waves plug-ins from the Waveshell, but it does not remember the chosen plug-ins when reloading the project. I have already sent an e-mail to their support department.stag wrote:Acon EffectChainer.
It loads everything, less RTAS.
Art Tecnica more flexible, more feature packed but also more complicated.
2. I could not find an art tecnica chainer. Can you provide a link?
Thanks, XL

XL, what are you wanting to do? I use FXT within Cubase, and I normally just save my individual track settings for later recall. Just right click on any mixer track and "Save Selected Channels" or you can save the entire mixer settings. Hopefully that'll help.

I am running Cubase SX3 on a Win XP x64 system. Waves plug-ins do not work on x64 since the iLOK dongle system does not provide any drivers for x64 at the moment. So, I use a slave machine with XP x32, mainly for Waves plug-ins and some other plug-ins that do not run (correctly) on x64 (like Steinberg TheGrand2, NI GuitarRig2, and the like). Both machines are linked with GBit LAN (hardware) and FXT (software).loveless wrote:XL, what are you wanting to do? If I want to use more than one FXT/LAN plug-in "in a row" as inserts in a channel (including master channel), the audio data is being streamed "ping-pong"-wise from Master to Slave (first plug-in), back to Master, back to Slave (second plug-in) etc.
It has already been suggested that FXT should include a chaining functionality to let several plug-ins be applied to the same audio stream one after another (in the slave machine). Since this has not been implemented yet (and I do not know if it will ever be), I am searching for a chainer plug-in on the slave machine to prevent "ping-pong" streaming for a number of Waves plug-ins which need to be processed serially. This "ping-pong" streaming leads to a very great amount of latency since the latency reported to Cubase by FXT must be at minimum the current ASIO driver latency (so, if I use more than 2000 samples latency in the mixing stage, every plug-in on the slave machine will "consume" this amount of latency).
I have tried eXT - does not work with Waveshell, and Acon - does not work as I described (constant crashes on the slave machine upon project reload). I am not sure about Plogue - I will try soon, same with Console - they seem to support only VST 2.0, whereas Waveshell is VST 2.3.

I've been looking for a wrapper, strictly for performance gain - I didn't realize that FXT "ping ponged" as you describe. I very rarely use it for effects, so I've never noticed that. Now a wrapper is looking more and more like something I need.

Waves will work in energyXT with this handy free utility. Ran once, it allows eXT to see all the Waves plug-ins individually.moonlite wrote:iirc, ext doesn't (yet) work with waveshell
