I'm surprised there's no KvR topic or link to this synth: LennarDigital Sylenth1. I just saw it today mentioned on Harmony Central. I've never heard of them before, and I haven't tried the demo, but the sound clips on the site sounded pleasant enough.

Well, seeing as how they've been a "company" for less than two
weeks and their only product has been out for just three days
I'm not that surprised. The fact that they have'nt announced
here of all places makes me think perhaps they don't exactly
have their finger on the pulse.
Yeah, it does'nt sound half bad but there are plenty of
synths out there that sound better for less. Perhaps they
have'nt announced here because they know what a tough room
this is...he...he...

The full version of Sylenth1 is available now for €159.

Sylenth as in Silence? Synth Edit? (Noticed the warning to FL Studio users)

I thought someone who had a few too many was posting about synth1.
Anyway, i downloaded the demo and had a go, it sounds quite nice and didn't hit the cpu at all (bear in mind my cpu is only 1.7ghz). It generated a number of *.dat files on startup, but no *.sep files and the like you'd expect from an SE synth (can i assume it's not then?). Anyway, i'm not in the market for buying anything right now, but this is quite nice.

What is it with you and Synthedit any way?Teksonik wrote:Synth Edit?
But, no, it doesn't appear to be made with SE (unless SE can display polyphony/voice management info with default modules (no it can't)). Not an awful sounding synth. I'm blasé about synths these days, and this doesn't really take me out of that frame of mind, though.

From the Website:
"This is What users say about Sylenth1
"Yesterday I tried the Sylenth. It is without doubt the GREATEST VST I own. The sounds you can get out of it are just so incredibly fat! It really inspires me to make music!"
Dimitri
"Wow this synth is really SUPER FAT! And that menu in the middle is really great, it's so easy to use!"
Totalition
"I'm so happy with your synth! It can be used for really anything and it easily goes along with the biggest names out there!"
Pascal
"The LFO's make the filter go so enormously deep, and then it comes back from far away. So cool! I've never heard anything like it. The Virus doesn't even come CLOSE to this. I've got no idea how you did it, but respect!"
Overdrive
"Mannnn, this thing is so cool! Such a thick sound!!"

Tried the demo and actually it's not a bad little synth. Doesn't bring anything new to the table and $200 is WAY off target. At $ 50 this synth may have a market but the competition at it's price point is just too strong (Insert favorite $200 synth's name here).
EDIT: By the way it drops 31 .dat files into a folder during installation. Don't know what that's all about.

I couldn't figure that out myself. But when i deleted them and loaded it back up, although the files were recreated, the sound was broken up by white noise instead of the voice thereafter.Teksonik wrote:Tried the demo and actually it's not a bad little synth. I agree with the price too, it's a little high, and it did have that 'stall' issue i have with SE plugs in fruity (which as you pointed out, is related to it being reset each time).

Nice synth, yet I don't believe it justifies the $200+ price tag. Vanguard sounds very similar to it and costs half the price.
