Nice post. I actually like what I hear from this plug, so I do hope that Lennard will hop in again and clear things upliars&ashes wrote:----It's a bummer that S.E. still gets such a bad rap, but it is just a fact of the game. I personally don't care either way, not looking for another VA synth, and don't have the $ regardless, but I hope the creator wasn't lying about using S.E. to make the synth, and I hope he can prove it soon if he in fact didn't. I almost always root for the underdog, and you've all about dogged this guy half to death, so I'm kinda hoping he shows some proof and shuts down the haters, that would make for an amusing ending at least. *shrug*
----I guess the asking price does seem a bit high, but like has been said, for a premiere quality VA synth, well, the market has asked for that much before, and it's not like inflation ever really goes away for long, despite any market over-saturation. If it turns out to be a S.E. plug, well, we all know he isn't going to sell but 2 or 3 tops, and if he knows of S.E.'s reputation, well, I wonder why he would even use S.E. to skin it or whatever. Who knows, if he wants to show some proof, then there it is, and if not, well, buy something else I guess, but can we at least try to chill out on the witch hunt ? A little ? Maybe ?

Honnestly, I personnaly don't care to know if it makes with S.E or not !
The most point to me is : Sounds !
The plugin have to sound good... and as far I know and I had heart, it looks interesting ! And the GUI look clear enough to have everything under hands directly.
OK, now the price ? OK, that's the same price of Albino 3, Blue, etc.. etc.. And what ? It still interesting.
For me, I will prefer a $99-149 price, but like anyone, I always prefer to have a low price... but $199 doesn't sounds crazy if the plugin is stable, low CPU use, High quality in filters, etc...
I don't know if it's a Ferrari, an Infinity or Toyota... But, I'm only know that I'm interesting to drive it.
A lot of person claim that the price is high... Personnaly, I'm not agree. Mostly when the same guys spend a lot of money in hardware (that's not better quality) or software really more expensive and not sounds better... but only because they come from a "major" company...
So, this is why I'll give a chance to this plugin. I will try it later and perhaps buy it if the sound quality is really here as said by the developper.
BTW : I don't care about the name anymore, mostly because that's only the name... not the sound. I ever trust that the most important in plugin, is the : Sound, capacity to be updated easily, good Interface and good sounds (presets and capacity to make yours)... And all of that for a price lower than any hardware.
A lot of ppl, everytime want cheaper and cheaper plugin. I have use gear from over 20 years and still remmeber the really over-priced gear really not special and as good as this plugin.

PS: In conclusion, I think if you don't like this plug... don't buy it! That's all! It's the power of customers and market.
But don't flam the developper. I'm pretty sure he's really honnest and have made his best to create this plugin...

Oops... not updated ! I don't have Oasys anymore...
It's not a problem of money. I only use gear I need to work and enjoy myself.
All this gear price is nothing to compare the old keyboard and rack unit price... I have spent more money in the old keyboard than this setup... and it was really really not as good as this one !
Just remember the price of Akai Sampler (I don't tell you the Fairlight)... and kind of stuff like this.

Sure is-I even own it. I wasn't trying to make a complete list, just add to it! What's that now 10 or so better synths for the same price or less?novaflash wrote:discodsp discovery, 80 euros is certainly a challenger tooImprov wrote:
Reality check: In addition to the synths that others have mentioned for around $200 or less, I would prefer:
Albino 3: $199 USD http://www.linplug.com
Rob Papen Blue: $199 USD http://www.robpapen.com
Helga: $136 USD http://www.kiesel.is/
Surge: $150 USD (approx.) http://www.vemberaudio.se
Imposcar: $99 USD http://www.gforcesoftware.com/ViewCateg ... nstruments
To name but five more better sounding, better featured synths.

Sylenth 1 seems to be having an undeservedly hard time in this thread. Some people are quite mean.
I listened to the dems and thought they sounded great.
The tones were full of richness and depth.
I think it's great that yet another dev has arrived bringing real quality

----For something middle of the road/usable, less than I paid for the computer I'm currently using, which is barely above middle of the road by todays standards. If you want to go comparing specs, then of course my reasoning goes south, but you'd be comparing time travel to taking the bus in that sense.mistertoast wrote:>>and it's not like inflation ever really goes away for long,

Well, I never made any comments about SE and no one cankevvvvv wrote:Sylenth 1 seems to be having an undeservedly hard time in this thread. Some people are quite mean.

My point entirely
acuse me of EVER SE bashing. I did'nt say anything to the
effect that the dev was trying to hide SE modules, which
if true is kinda shitty. But NONE of that is MY point.
Which is to MY ears this synth sounds GOOD. I never said
it did'nt. I'm just not willing to spend $200 on it when
there are so many synths out there that sound as good or
better for less....for me that's it...end of story. It may
only be my opinion but I'm entitled to it.
Cheers....CL
