You can upload it to Rapidshare, or YouSendIt, for free hosts. But if you can solve a problem like this, I'm sure you can work out how to get a file onto the internet(!)
I started a thread about this a while ago, asking if you could use impulse responses to effectively de-convolve a dry signal from the wet signal, and the DSP guys were relatively convinced that, while in theory the idea is sound, in practice it can't work.
So I'm interested in your claim, as well...

Ok guys,
One thing you should take in consideration is that this algoritm was not intented (initiatly) for such profund reverbs.
I ended up introducing 2 stages of the "cleaning". One for the first 100ms and the other for the rest of the tail. And I had to add a 3rd that only works in mono.
The first reverb was VERY pronounced. You can download it, the link is in the first page.
The second reverb had a strange problem. The source shouldn't be too clear (I think), and the reverb really has improved the situation.
Withtout the reverb, both files seem strange. But this is all the technology permits, and it's a lot.
Anyway, this examples are one of the most difficult I found. I can de-reverb any commercial song, but this was way ahead.
For both examples, the same algotitm.
Here's the first one:

ps: I'll post the second one as soon as it gets uploaded. AND and really had a file hosting service, but it's outdated

Actually, there is absolutely nothing stopping anyone from doing this....except for the fact that it is impossible.TristanWilliams wrote:It seems like a wind up to me.

Well, it does seem to shorten the reverberation -- this is particularly noticeable with the last note. But there is a strong metallic "musical noise" artifact throughout, characteristic of spectral subtraction and related techniques.

Pants.
Good effort, but ultimately pants. Sounds like you sampled the reverb tail and fed it through a noise reduction plugin like Waves Xnoise.

Thats nonsense.TristanWilliams wrote:Pants.

See if that Xnoise plugin can do this to your file.

I want to hear it but I have reached my limit for free users. Please use yousendit as it doesn't suck nearly as badly.

Yep, can't download the file. So what's the criteria here? You need a very smooth, high-quality reverb?
